It's not a photorealistic drawing, but I want to know how many of you thought they weren't drawings upon first glance.

Hee! This was a fun little experiment and made me feel a tad better despite my winter blues. For those interested, the species I drew were the Atlas moth and Madagascar Moon Moth.

Hehe! I wish.

Incidentally though, we had Jersey Tiger Moths outside the flat for a while in July-August. They are quite rare. Apparently they travelled down the railway line from somewhere nearby.

Dave says they must have Oyster Cards.

Superb stuff. I love insects. I find them both fascinating and a little unnerving all at the same time.

Awww thanks. ;) I am pretty happy with how that self-portrait turned out. :)

It doesn't look quite like that anymore as that was a couple of months ago and I've since had it cut and dyed it several times - but then it never stays any one color for long. I am staying in the purple-pink range these days.

Definitely thought they were real! When I clicked the cut, I was like, "I must read how she obtained these moths and is allowed to let them free in her house!" Haha. Good show!

They're beautiful. I second the suggestion above that you make them into crafty, sellable things.

I've just found out you can order the caterpillars and cocoons online and raise them! So the novelty of them fluttering about the house may come to reality after all! Depending, of course, on whether or not it would affect the moths well being, even if they do only live about 2 weeks.

And my brain is definitely thinking of opening a crafty etsy shop for drawings.
