When I build a solution that doesn't have a .vssbe file in the solution directory, I get the following errors in the Output window:

When I build a solution that doesn't have a .vssbe file in the solution directory

Failed Project.Pre-binding:

Strange error. I did not notice anything like this for VS2015 & VS2017. But this error also affects for section with binding of a client library client.vssbe.dll (part of our API) do you have something from this ? Maybe do you have also some specific configuration for solution files like <name>.vssbe without general .vssbe ?

Can you also try to build same via msbuild and send full log ?

• Apply debug mode from .vssbe.user file (without any *.vssbe files) by the following code below:

• then pass diagnostic key to msbuild /v:diag

for example:

I'm using Visual Studio 2015 Update 3 and vsSolutionBuildEvent 0.12.10.10901.

I'm wondering if the pdb can be included in the packages and the full exception written to the log so that when an unexpected exception occurs, the full stack trace including line numbers can be included in the log as well?

I don't remember why I use simple message instead of full info with stack trace for this place (may be typo and copy-paste for all this class after refact):

But it looks like I need to provide other version anyway.
However, I need also to view your environment before this place. For example, via diagnostic log from msbuild as I already said above.

Well, you can also easily view/debug this at runtime (seems will be much more faster with you + absolutely without info about your projects because it looks important for you):

• Add Visual Studio SDK (about 50mb - 150mb don't remember exactly, but not so big)
  2015+ via Visual Studio setup.

• You should also have installed vsSolutionBuildEvent plugin.

• git clone --depth=1 https://github.com/3F/vsSolutionBuildEvent.git

• Open vsSolutionBuildEvent.sln (compatible for all versions starting from VS2010).

Hope it was resolved after MvsSln integration.

If not: I need either /v:diag information as I mentioned above, or I need any template projects because I don't know how to reproduce your problem.

Closed due inactivity. 1.14 solves lot of related bugs because of integrations with projects like MvsSln. Please reopen this issue again if you still have something.

1.14 also adds stack trace for this part in debug mode.
