The Proto toolchain manager is pretty handy for managing tools like the Depot CLI, especially in monorepos that already use the affiliated Moon repository manager. Adding a Proto configuration for Depot helps close the loop for folks using Moon/Proto and Depot, by ensuring the Depot CLI is consistently available and versioned across development and CI environments.
This config file describes how Proto can download the built binaries from Depot releases, and it can be used in Proto by following the instructions I've added to
README.md. If/when this PR is merged, I'll also add a mention to Depot's third-party registry.
