Wei Wuxian was a former member of the Xian Le family of Westside, taken there as a young orphan and raised alongside others like Baren, Jiang Cheng and Okuni. In his darkest years, he took care of the messy jobs no one else wanted - but he hated that life, eventually making an unofficial break from the family and heading into Middleton. He began taking in displaced family members of deposed ex-mafioso and ran the apartment Yiling Ridge with Wen Ning for several years, at peace despite tensions between families. After brutal kidnappings tore through the town, he picked up his old mantle and nearly raze the city trying to destroy the kidnapping ring. He was eventually caught by the family dog Shinobu and exiled alongside Baren, who was collateral damage. He spent the rest of his life hunting down other kidnappers and their ilk, earning the moniker Yiling Specter.
