HIATUS & DROP HIATUS For a hiatus of a week or less, the character in question will become similar to one of the NPCs working in the mall. They will not be able to respond to any player characters or do anything but what seems like a pre-determined set of actions, such as folding clothes or putting away shoes. Full autonomy will return when the player comes off hiatus, and the player can choose whether or not the character remembers doing any of this. For a hiatus of longer than a week, characters completely vanish. Nobody knows exactly what happens when the characters vanish, but whatever it is, it seems unpleasant. They will return without knowing that they have been gone. Talk to either Flurry or Blissy if you have an idea for something else for your character to do while you're on hiatus.
