Code of Conduct
We are committed to providing a welcoming, friendly, supportive, safe and professional environment for all participants at our events, regardless of age, background, belief, disability, ethnicity, race, religion, gender, identity, national origin, sexual orientation or other legally protected characteristics, as well as previous hackathon attendance or lack thereof, computing experience or lack of, and chosen programming language or tech stack.
All attendees, sponsors, partners, volunteers, and staff at our hackathon are expected to abide by this Code of Conduct.
This Code of Conduct applies before, during and after our events, and in all physical and virtual spaces.
We expect participants to treat each other with respect. We do not tolerate harassment in any form. Unacceptable behavior includes, but is not limited to, the following:
- Intimidating, harassing, abusive, discriminatory, derogatory or demeaning speech/actions.
- Harmful or prejudicial verbal or written comments or visual images related to age, background, belief, disability, ethnicity, race, religion, gender, identity, national origin, sexual orientation or other personal characteristics, including those protected by law.
- Inappropriate use of sexually explicit language or imagery.
- Real or implied threat of professional or financial damage or harm.
Please note that while photography is permitted, other participants must be given a reasonable chance to opt out from such photography. If an individual objects to the taking of his/her photograph, you must comply with this request. You are not permitted to take photographs in any context where people have a reasonable expectation of privacy (including but not limited to bathrooms or where participants are sleeping).
If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact the event sponsors immediately. Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately. Anyone determined to be in violation of this Code of Conduct may be expelled from the hackathon or disqualified from awards at our discretion.
