Iris

For my first post, I thought I'd share a music video.


I was named Iris after this song. My mum absolutely adored (still does) the Goo Goo Dolls, and especially loves this song and so I was called Iris. When I was younger, I used to think it was incredibly embarrassing, and used to pretend it was a family name or something but I've grown to think it's amazing. The whole idea of loving something, of being so passionate about a song that you name your child after it? I now think it's really cool. Pretty much the same as if I had a child and called them Xena or Lucy!

I also love Goo Goo Dolls. They're probably my favourite band as well so I'll probably talk about them and share their music a lot. I definitely gained that from mum. Again, I got really bored of them when I was younger because she listened to them all the time, but when I got homesick at university I'd put on Dizzy Up The Girl and it would make me feel close to her. I started to actually listen to the music as well and slowly fell in love.
