Snowflake Challenge Day 1
I'm doing Snowflake Challenge at my own pace. Here's Day 1: In your own space, talk about your Happy Place.
My happy place very much involves dogs, who are joyful and silly and transparent and simple. I wrote a post about dogs a few years back that encapsulates most of my Dog Feels, so I will only add here a few notes about my own wonderful Doglet.
1) A friend once described Doglet by saying that his three favorite things are food,
implicated2, and snuggling. This is wholly accurate.
2) I work in a fifth-floor office with big windows and sometimes bring Doglet to work with me. Sometimes he looks out the windows and grrrrrrs ferociously at dogs on the ground. (Doglet weighs 13 pounds and has approximately 5 teeth.)
3) I live in an apartment building with a parking lot and have long suspected that Doglet knows when my car in particular has arrived. A friend confirmed this recently when they stayed at my house while I left to do an errand, then returned. Long before I got to the door, Doglet knew I was coming. I later came to understand that what he recognizes is the beep my car lock makes when I use the key remote to lock it. One day, I was sitting on my sofa with my keys in my pocket and accidentally hit the remote and beeped the lock. Doglet leapt from the couch and ran to the door... then looked at me... then looked at the door... then looked back at me... he was very excited and very confused. <3

I love dogs, but I can’t have one because our house is a disaster and my daughter has mental health issues that mean any dog we get would have to be an adult, well-trained, well-matched, certified emotional support dog.

Doglet was a rescue, so I don't know his age for sure, but I adopted him about 5 years ago and estimated his age at 5 then so, tennish?
