Character Name: Erik “Magneto” Lehnsherr
Character Age: 62 (shh just go with it)
Canon: X-Men Cinematic
Canon Point: after Dark Phoenix, immediately before the epilogue in Paris
History/World: Revised timeline to the end of Dark Phoenix
Personality:
Erik is driven to the point of single-mindedness. Once he is set on a goal, he will achieve it. No matter who or what gets destroyed along the way, he will not be dissuaded until he has accomplished what he has set out to do (or die trying). This is a double-edged sword. When the goal is a beneficial one, like creating a mutant homeland on Genosha, this dedication is a very good quality. When this goal is a destructive one, like ripping the crust off of the Earth to help Apocalypse, it is not as good.
Erik is also unfailingly honest. The closest he comes to lying is using a pseudonym and letting people believe what they want to about what he’s doing. He will not lie. So while he may be planning to go on a murderous revenge mission, he won’t trick his friends to help him do it. He’ll just try to sway them to his cause with his reasoning.
Leadership is something he has mixed success with. For all his power, intelligence, and the kind of charisma that lets him get away with the stuff he does, he’s not very good at inspiring others to join him. He doesn’t have the empathy, or political skill, to draw others to him the way somebody like Charles has.
If somebody is able to get close to him, they will discover some of his less obvious qualities. Getting close to him in the first place is difficult. He has endured so much loss that he is extremely guarded with his affections. But he has a depth of love for family and all mutants that keeps him going despite all the tragedy in his life. He’s also funny, possessed of a sly wit that is exceptionally dry. He also is genuinely awed by the incredible things his fellow mutants can do and be. Nothing is more beautiful or wondrous to him than the endless variety of appearance and ability that can be found among his fellow mutants.
Items: Brown jacket, charcoal shirt, black pants, black boots, travel chess board, overnight bag with a change of clothes and some toiletries.
Powers/skills: Magnetokinesis (manipulation of magnetic fields), ferrokinesis (manipulating metal objects), magnetic flight (generating magnetic fields and flying on them), metal sense (ability to detect metal objects nearby), magnetic shield (using magnetic fields to form an impenetrable barrier), metallic bonding (fusing different kinds of metal together).
Note: I’m prepared for any/all of these powers to be nerfed as he can quickly become OP to the point of game breaking. I just ask that he not be totally stripped of his powers, as he does not handle that well.
