I'll go more into details and recipe later but if people are curious here's Juliana's vigil food :
- Dried apricots
- Jordan almonds
- Candied fennel seeds
- marzipan (S. Welserin, including the idea of the gilded one)
- “peach pits” (same recipe than marzipan but using walnuts instead of almonds)
- Genovese tart (S. Welserin)
- a dish of peas (S. Welserin)
- mustards (pear: S. Welserin; simple: Rumpolt)
- marinated shredded roots (Rumpolt)
- pickled beets (Rumpolt)
- black forest ham
- smoked sausage
- cheese
- apples

Drinks:
- water
- blackcurrant syrup
- strawberry syrup
- ginger/lemon syrup
- apple juice

This was an incursion into German food and I got to learn new things. One of them is that gilding marzipan is insane :)

Carrots and pasnips.
Not so weird. They are the ones you get in Indian restaurants at the end of the meal, very colorful little things.

It's weird to me only because I've never eaten at an Indian restauraunt...

Dunno if she made them or bought them, but you can find such things pre-made at an Indian grocer; they're the multi-colored bits sitting in that little dish with a spoon next to the register at Indian restuarants ;-D

These are the ones :)
I wanted to make candied anise seeds but ran out of time (and admittedly I enjoy how colorful they are)

That's one of the things people were afraid to eat at first because it looked pretty. It went much better once I cut one open :)
Of course I didn't take picture of the food on the table. Oh well...
The pea castle had no success whatsoever :D

I have a pic of one of the Genovese tarts on my phone, which I took after taking them out of the oven but I totally forgot to take pictures of the table :(
Hopefully though I have pictures of Juliana at court :)
