The clone would be a HUMAN being. Are people forgetting that? Just because he/she was engineered by science, doesn't make him/her less human. To 'use' this clone for organs would be beyond unethical; in my opinion. What if the CLONE became ill, would it be ok to chop you up and give your parts to the clone?
Also, realistically, the clone would be a LOT younger? In most cases I would assume. If youre 98 and your clone is 2 years old, how are his/her lungs going to work for you when you decided to smoke you're entire life away and are now dying?
Not just that, but we're always complaining about over population, a world full of folks who are starving to death because food cannot be manufactured enough for said people; so the idea is to create MORE mouths to feed? Yeah, makes loads of sense.
Yeah, it all sounds 'cool' and so advanced, but the consequences are beyond grave and thats more important than how it 'sounds' or 'looks'. Humanity ... will it ever learn?
So, my answer is a huge resounding "NO, I DO NOT agree with cloning in any way, shape or form." We were meant to be born, live, and die.. stop trying to change that.
And, in other news... I have my old crappy laptop working... barely. I guess just enough for me to comment to this. Tomorrow I work, and then am headed to Massachusetts to visit family.
I'll catch up better when I get my PC working again (part ordered, waiting for it to arrive and be installed).
