This is a Dark Ride

After hours of trying to get fucking SUSE 10.0 to run at something more than 800x600 resolution I have managed to break the fucking thing. If I boot as root, it works. If I boot as me, it locks up. It's a video/monitor problem, I know that. If this was Windows I'd just trash the drivers and start again. But I don't know anything about Linux, and I've done everything it says in the manual. And it doesn't work. So I'm faced with erasing the whole drive and starting from scratch. What I want to do right now is fucking scream but I can't. I'm going to bed.
