[ It's only been a little under a week since Ezio has come back from six years of life gone by in a handful of days, but Desmond has been sitting on this for a long time. He's calm over the feed, even as his guts have worked themselves into knots. ]
Hey, Ezio. I was wondering if I could talk to you about something. Something important; it's regarding the Masyaf keys. Call me back when you can.
[It has been quite interesting these past few days for Ezio, and he has spent a good amount of it getting back into old habits. The Bureau is his home once again, but he does not let it decide his life, or his actions. There is freedom to be found in the six years where he had none.
But it is the message left by Desmond on his bracelet this day that causes him to pause in his activities, withdraw to his quarters and shut the door behind him. If it's about the Masayaf keys, and Desmond wants to talk to him about it, then it's important.]
[ Sorry, padre, but this will be unpleasant. It's not long before he arrives, coming in from the roof entrance with a gust of cool, Autumn air. Desmond falters when he tries to smile, he's always had a shitty poker face. ]
Hey.
[ His gaze drops to the paperwork; shop accounts, he guesses. ]
[With the caches successfully installed and a few days of rest after, Yusuf finally has time to send a brief message to Ezio, following up on the promise he'd made a few weeks before.]
... Ezio? Do you have a moment, arkadashim? I... I believe I am able to talk.
[It has been many days since he and Yusuf have talked or even perhaps mentioned what he saw- the bodies lying upon the floor of the Constantinople home of the Assassins, Yusuf in a flurry and trying to survive, mistaking Ezio as one of his attackers. The novices in Asgard had called him, worried, and as they touched, Ezio was pulled into the mess of what had happened. He aided him then, took care of the trouble and made sure he was safe, and well.
And he saw the dagger go for Yusuf's back, could hear Sofia scream as she hid. He reached out, pulled his Turkish brother back into Asgard, batted his apparent death away and breathed air that was for this world and not his, was alive and held people there as solid as the sky was, day or night.
They have not spoken a word of this since, save for Yusuf's promise. When the call comes, Ezio breathes out for a long moment before deciding to answer. He knows he isn't going to like what he hears.]
I always have time, arkadasi. Is there somewhere you would like to speak in particular?
[It takes a little while for Yusuf to speak, mustering up his last bit of courage and pushing all hesitation from his mind. No, this has to happen today. He promised Ezio, and he's not going to breach that trust for anything in the world.]
Not in particular, no, but I would like to be somewhere quiet. Our brothers and sisters do not need to hear me prattle. And I am sure it would help you too, since hearing is always the first to go.
[Yusuf chuckles at his own joke, It seems that their banter is still the same, which should provide Ezio some comfort.]
Can you meet me at the courtyard near the old tower south of the Bureau?

He hopes, at least.]

Sorry, I didn't realize you were working.
