a guide to messbox.

how to use messbox:
  • join with your muse(s)
  • post/tag
that's it

please comment on this post if you'd like a tag added, or if you have any questions or feedback.

this is an anything-and-everything comm, basically, and the only real requirement is that everything is ic.

although here are some actual guidelines so you don't make trouble for yourself/anyone else

  • don't start drama. also don't feed drama. or i will feed you to the pit scorpions
  • keep irl issues out of the rp or i will feed you to the pit scorpions
  • nsfw is fine! but put it behind a cut. or else pit scorpions
  • feel free to post memes and you or anyone else may tag with any/all of your characters
  • post videos and links offsite and images too as long as you react to it ic. this is not a comm for ooc discussion. that said, you may respond from a personal journal if a post has the "open to meta" tag but be warned you will get ic responses from folks
  • if you're posting a big image or something that stretches the page please put it behind a cut or resize because otherwise whoops there's that pit scorpion thing again
to request a canon tag to be added to the tag list, just comment on this post. please make sure you're actually planning on posting with a muse from that canon - we'd like to avoid cluttering it too much. still, don't be shy! this is a new comm, and as such there are a lot of tags to be added.

some helpful stuff for newbies:
  • "ota" stands for "open to all". tag your posts with this if your post is aimed at everyone and you don't mind characters from any canon dropping in.
  • "closed" means you already have plans for who you'll be playing with and perhaps you and someone else already agreed on a scene you want to play out. don't tag a closed post if you're not in on it.
  • "canon: blah" tags are helpful so people can recognise what character you're playing from which canon source. you don't have to tag your canon, but everyone would really appreciate it!
  • "meme" posts are sort of like writing prompts - they'll give you a setting or a scenario to play with and where you go from there is your call.
  • "meta" means that if a post is tagged with this, the poster doesn't mind if you respond from a personal journal - though people will most likely respond to you in-character. it also means it's very meta and the fourth wall will probably be broken a lot. no surprises there.

welcome to the trainwreck.
