Aug. 11th, 2002 09:37 pmI didn't fall off a mountain but I did fall off a mountain bike, which I'm sure counts as clairvoyance to a psychic. So now I have a nice two-inch long cut just under my left kneecap. It hurts to bend my knee and it hurts to put pressure on that foot. Mom's right, probably should go in for a tetanus shot and maybe stitches, but who has that kind of time???
And much, much thanks to Beth, my former officemate. She read my LJ, emailed me two pictures that she took at the Smithsonian Silk Road festival, and gave her blessing for me to post them on my LJ. I can't claim them as my own, even if I wanted to, because I didn't see these particular exhibits on Tibetan sand art. All questions should be addressed c/o Beth. I don't know how often she checks my journal, but she'd have more info than I.

Date: 2002-08-11 07:09 pm (UTC)Stitches are optional; tetanus shots are another thing.
Who has the time to avoid a fatal awful disease like tetanus,
which can be warded off by a simple shot? I hope you do.
I like those little doc in a box places for stuff like that; convenient hours, they often take insurance, and there's little or no waiting.
I would have loved to see those tibetan things in person; they look grand.

it's B, the f.o.
http://www.artnetwork.com/Mandala/
The colors are gorgeous and the detail is incredible. The artists were (obviously) on the home stretch of the mandala the day I was there (the day before the last day). When they're finished, there's a ceremony in which the mandala is destroyed; it's supposed to represent the uncertainty/fragility of life. I think.
