CNN obtained what appear to be archival videotapes of Al Qaeda developing chemical weapons. According to the NY Times, the CIA has no comment on the tapes because CNN hasn't shared them yet. Asked why CNN got the tapes and not the CIA, a CIA source said, "There are a lot more of them in Afghanistan, and they get paid more." This source at least had the sense to remain anonymous after giving the reporter an explosive quote.
So is all of the increased defense spending going to fancy surveillance and war toys??

Date: 2002-08-19 11:23 am (UTC)seems the pendulum has swung to the opposite side then. instead of the media relating to us what the government allowed, the media is relaying to us and the government what they want... and another disaster would be another media field day... they control the climate now, huh?
because there's more profit to be made by exploitation than truth.
