Jul. 25th, 2007 07:13 pmPhoto entries are so much easier than written ones. My mood lately has been low, and I struggle with feeling totally useless. Not at work, which is typically steady, but at home, where chores have piled up like the little hills of cat hair that collect at the corners of my rooms. I've been traveling the past two weekends, which means I start the work week tired and never recover. This morning I woke up with a scratchy throat and congestion, but the stay home was also for mental health reasons. I slept most of the day, and the cold symptoms have abated somewhat. I think I'll sew for a couple of hours, then see about tackling chores.
One positive thing to come out of my procrastination has been some good cooking experiments. I picked blackberries in my backyard and at the park near my house and made a decent berry crisp (didn't have milk to do a proper cobbler). I made eggplant with garlic sauce that tasted very much like the dish served by my favorite local Chinese restaurant. And I made an almost-healthy dessert by mixing whole-wheat couscous with butter, brown sugar, and chopped walnuts.
