001. [closed to au!jake]
who: AU Dirk Strider and Jake English, but not Bro because Kim needs to do her fucking homework
when: day one, morning
where: Faith Avenue, near the cemetary
what: Stupid wizards arrive and find each other.
note: An official mod-opener post will go up later. I can't put it up because Seki is plotmod. However, I do think there's a chance there won't be monsters for the first dayweek, so if you're posting now then please refrain from mentioning them until Seki gets on and either confirms or sets me straight.
[ A dying universe. The responsibility of reviving it, a wish promised in return. Somehow it all struck Dirk as rather plausible. He inherently believed the strange child's words, which, he knew, was a stupid thing. He couldn't put a finger on why it seemed true.
He would have to force himself to proceed with skepticism.
There's a boy in ridiculous sunglasses and muggle clothing, save for the green-and-silver tie around his neck, looking around and getting his bearings. ]

Maybe someone he knew was here.
So, this was a Jake, a Jake not really dressed like a normal Jake. Clad in a bright red and gold shirt proclaiming "GRYFFINDOR" under light wizard robes. The shorts were universal. That's all there was to say about that.]

Someone wearing the t-shirt he had so lovingly made. Because muggle-style t-shirts of Hogwarts houses are some perfectly ironic shit. See also: The entire reason Dirk is even wearing his tie outside of school.
He wastes no time hurrying across the street toward Jake. Though he wouldn't admit it in as many words, it's nice to see a familiar face. ]
English!

[He was staring up like a doofus when he heard a familiar voice.]
...Strider!
[What a sight for sore eyes.]

Learn our way around this place, I guess. Keep an eye out for threats. And figure out if anyone else is here, too. I doubt it's just us.

Drat.
no subject
"Drat"?

[Sigh.]
..What's that you've got there, chap.

Ah. [ He holds it up. ] It's a two-way radio. Or I guess "wireless" in your old-fashioned wizard parlance. [ No Dirk that's just British parlance and you talk way too much like an American ] That kid gave it to me. Didn't you get one?

[Pats his robes down again and pulls one out.]
Well, yes. That doesn't mean I have a single idea of what it is.

[ Pause. He reaches into his pockets, and his eyebrows furrow. ]
Merlin's constipated rectum. That fucker took my wand!
no subject
[Eyebrow.]
You carry yours during the summer?
no subject
Not that that does us any good right now.
no subject
[Frowns.]
So about these funny little contraptions?
no subject
[ He sets his to broadcast. It should transmit to Jake's -- and everyone else's. ] Testing.

Wicked.

[And he digs in his own pockets. That was definitely something he kept on him at all times. He pulled it out and held it up.]
Lucky us we didn't have those swiped along with our wands.

[ He slips it back into his pocket, checking briefly to make sure he has a pen too. Good. ]
Let's try and find someone else. We can't be the only ones here.

[He tucks his journal away and stuffs his hands in his robe pockets.]

[ He gestures for Jake to follow him, heading down the street. ]
