[ No sitting allowed, especially when everything is a DISASTER. After Asch is taken care of and Ayabe washes off his hands and that's it, he makes an immediate beeline for the basement, a quick stop at the gun room and Akechi can run into him around there. ]
[ Yeah, he's not looking too good or feeling real steady on his feet, so he steps a little further away from the lake, hissing a breath out between his teeth. ]
He was. It was the three of us. We spent the night talking about... horses and rhinos and things.
[ Just trying to stay awake through midnight, but that didn't happen. ]
Between midnight and this morning, that happened. Asch must have gotten out of the hall somehow and seen Nia- he was calling her name back there.
Everything being wet. Gross and cold and clammy...
[ He holds his hands out, palms up. They're clean now after helping out with Asch, dry skin sliding over dry skin when he rubs his fingers together, but the disgusted look on his face suggests he's experiencing otherwise. ]
I thought Asch might have gotten water upstairs from the lake, so I came down here to check. You can see what happened. The mess everywhere... The monster in the lake must have caught him in the gun room, and chased him upstairs.
[ Ugh... He raises his hands to press over his eyes but has to stop himself before he actually does it, because Luna said to keep his hands away from his face. Because of Asch's blood, presumably, and even though he'd washed them, he feels like he needs a thousand showers and he still won't stop the gross muggy feeling on his skin. ]
Yeah, I do, like being in a sauna except it's cold instead of hot.
[ Maybe he's sick. He looks it, but doesn't think it's the case. Instead, he points off towards the stairs, that strip of pathway across from the gun room. ]
Do you not see the guns scattered everywhere outside the room?
Akechi will retreat to his room after the initial flood of questions, and will stay there.............. for a very long time. Will Ayabe seek him out in his room, or will he wait until Akechi tries to sneak out for food to ambush him?]
[ Wednesday is so funny, it's like Beau: we all need to calm down and meditate this: happens
Everything is such a mess that Ayabe doesn't come find Akechi until later in the afternoon, still trying to operate on a schedule even though there's been no sleep to reset the days. It's around lunch time that he comes into the second floor to Akechi's room- if he catches Akechi leaving then for food, great. If Akechi plans to hole up until the end of lunch so he doesn't have to run into anybody, then Ayabe's knocking on his door. ]
[It is absolutely the latter, which means Ayabe will have to resort to knocking on his door. He will be forced to wait a couple of seconds, but eventually... He will hear something shuffling within the room, and Akechi will open the door a moment later, looking surprised to see him.]
... Ayabe-san?
[Hi. Hello. Please don't mind the fact that his hair still looks slightly disheveled, while he wears a stupidly expensive pair of sweatpants + an equally expensive jacket. All that matters is that he is Clean and no longer smells like a graveyard puked on him. Nice.]
[ An Akechi who lets himself be seen with something of a bedhead... wild. ]
Were you resting? Lunch is going to disappear from the dining room if you don't go downstairs now. It looks like you went through an ordeal [ an """ordeal""" ] but if you can stomach food, you should eat.
[It's less bed hair and more that his torso is too hecked up to properly fix his hair right now. Hate that.]
Oh. [Oh.] Thank you. I'm touched by your concern, but I'm normally not all that hungry around lunchtime. I'll fetch something from the kitchen later in the afternoon.
[ Akira will have to brush his hair for him. Periodically throughout the conversation, Ayabe's probably going to be looking up at the cowlicks. ]
As long as you don't forget and wait until dinnertime. Not being able to sleep's going to mess up everybody's sense of time... Are you alright to talk about what happened? I spoke to Hunter briefly. He said there were zombies.
[Please don't. He hates being seen like this so he may, in fact, reach up to run a hand through his hair even though that fucking hurts.]
I don't mind speaking about it. [He seemed okay, emotionally, when they exited the room... Right? Right.] But that's about the gist of it. We were forced to fight off thirteen creatures, before we were allowed to complete a puzzle that let us leave the room.
[New week means new, shiny places to explore! It's no surprise that both of them will run into each other in the museum come Monday afternoon... Though, Ayabe might catch Akechi frowning at one of the cases right before he notices him, his expression rapidly shifting into a smile.]
[ He can hide that frown, but he can't hide whatever it is he was staring at half a second ago? In that Ayabe nods and says his quiet "good afternoon" in return, a guitar case shifting on his back as he does so and peers over at what display Akechi was looking at. ]
[Luckily for Ayabe, it doesn't take a lot of effort to see whatever Akechi was frowning at. It's a bronze sword, displayed along with a plaque that simply describes it as "ballpoint pen." Hm.]
In a way. I believe I saw something similar in the morgue last week.

Ayabe-san, I wasn't able to ask in the midst of... [Ah. Asch.] Earlier. But are you unharmed?
no subject
...Yeah, I'm fine. As far as I could see, both Luna and I were. We were together, but nothing happened to us. Asch, though...
no subject
... I'm relieved to hear it. [As relieved as anyone can be right now, anyway.] Was Asch-san there, too, when the two of you fell asleep?

I wonder if that's the reason he was attacked. Perhaps he saw the culprit, and chased after them... but was unable to do anything to save her.
[Which is horrible, actually, and Akechi looks troubled the longer he talks about it. In the end, he shakes his head to recompose himself.]
Did you notice anything else strange after waking up? Like a curse, or something only you could see?

[That's pretty horrifying, though. He puts a hand on his chin, eyebrows furrowed.]
Do you feel cold and clammy, yourself? Your hands look dry, but... We know by now that our perception of things can be faulty.
[The rats...]

Hunter said he just asked the door to open and it opened. Did it lock behind you? He also said you recognized the zombies? Or- at least one of them.

w3, monday.
Good afternoon, Ayabe-san.

Something you recognize?
no subject
In a way. I believe I saw something similar in the morgue last week.

What's a sword doing in the morgue? These things... probably belonged to everybody who died, and now they're being displayed like trophies?
no subject
[So... Haha! Maybe Ayabe is right.]
no subject
[ SORRY HE'S JUST STUCK ON THIS ONE ZOMBIE he hasn't memorized any other names, he just fixated on the one Akechi knew ]
no subject
Not as far as I know. I only recognized the sword because I was attacked with it.
no subject
[ Y'all are really out there being attacked and insisting you're fine ]
But now it's here. I guess Plum or Peach picked it up after you left it behind last week and put it back on display.
