[...and then Scorpius woke up. Woke up after a week of insanity which he knew was a lie by day five but had hoped there would be some other way to prove it wrong. He looks at his hands, sees the journal in them. Where he's been recording- or well, the other him had been recording his thoughts. He growls to himself, going to a bit Scarran-brained before he calms himself enough to turn, collect his silver suitcase (the only other thing he needs)... and go to flee this apartment]
[Misato is awake too. Waking up from the past, waking up from some crazy dream, some bizarre hangover. She sits up in bed - the spare room, not the one she had taken for herself only weeks ago - and blearily rubs at her eye. It takes about a half second more to realize that the pajama shirt and pants she'd been wearing as a 13-year-old are a little tight, now that she's a few inches taller and her figure has filled out. First task of the day: go find something that actually fits. That's way easier to focus on than the jumble of memories expanding in her head.]
[She steps out into the living room, to see him getting ready to flee. The man she'd thought was her husband, who she'd loved so much just days ago, who had continued to take care of her even as her age regressed. And now...well, first of all his appearance freaks her the hell out, and memories of their time together are't helping her not freak out.] Good...morning.
[Maybe he really is a pretty nice guy, underneath all that terrifying-ness?]
[There's a light noise from him at being noticed, something between a sigh and a hiss. He should have seen her coming. He should not care about how tight that clothing is about her, but when eh turns to see her out of the corner of his eyes he notices and he did not expect that, somehow.
[She lingers where she is, trying not to...stare at him so openly - the grotesque, leather-bound features she used to not mind in the least. So that's what kind of experiments the Malnosso run. The kind that mess with your head and who you are. She doesn't really know what to say here.]
I guess it would be stating the obvious if I said that wasn't really me, all last week. [Except the girl. That girl was her, certainly, but not anymore. The meaning of her words is almost joking, but the light tone doesn't quite reach her voice.]
[Misato is probably the one that worries Yoh the most at the moment, however, he still waits a day before trying to contact her. He knows it's just a small attempt at courtesy and that it probably serves for nothing, but it's all he can do. That or... Not contacting her at all, and that doesn't feel right. At the very least he wants to know that she's fine, as fine as one can be here and that the way she had been the last days of the experiment had also been part of it and not her real state.]
[...It's her nephew. The pretend one, anyway. She has nothing against him, just...that experiment threw her for a loop. At least he waited a day, but at the same time it feels like this is just being dragged out. Lingering over her is the uncomfortable knowledge that he and so many others have seen her like that, stuck in a time when she was so small and vulnerable. She puts on a smile anyway.]
Oh...morning, Yoh! Yeah, I'm fine. It's nice of you to check in on me, though.
Eh? Of course I mean it as a compliment! You've been a really good sister to me. I couldn't ask for a better one, so I don't get why anyone would forget you...
I never said there was anything wrong with it. [He can be a bit of a troll sometimes too, for all his seriousness. And it's not as if Yuan made it very difficult for him, either...]
It does, doesn't it? But it really happened... this is proof of it. [Raises her hand. Look, Misato, there's the ring.] It's led me to other things, too.

[Continuation of this... ugh, I suddenly remember why I didn't bother with these for Mithos' appointment continuations. SO TEDIOUS.]
Hm... [For a moment, Jeb's mind flashes back to the day before... when that stuff with Silver and Mithos happened. His smile becomes a little weaker.] I really hope he thinks the same thing, Misato.
[For someone who's never really done much for Christmas, this year was weirdly busy for Shinji. Between Panda's Secret Santa party and the weird little elves in the village and actually having gifts to give out, it's actually been a nice (if strange) holiday. Of course, his holiday plans hadn't ended there—he'd also made dinner for his roommates and neighbor (who he was sure would come over whether he was invited or not) and still had a few gifts to give. So after dinner, Shinji is working on cleaning up the kitchen so he can do just that!]
[She had been surprised by Shinji's involvement in the holiday season, but it made her happy to see. She couldn't help but like the feeling she got from helping him do Christmas-y things like putting up decorations or baking. Or watching him do these things half the time, same difference. But it was the warm feeling that they were a little family, completely normal and happy. Even if it was just a feeling, she would wrap it around her fingers and try not to let it go.
After dinner, she sits at the table, rubbing her full belly. A half-finished glass of eggnog sits at her place.] Good job with dinner, Shinji!
[He puts some plates in the sink before turning around to answer. He smiles a bit bashfully at the compliment.]
I'm glad you liked it. I've never done anything like that before, so I wasn't sure how it would turn out...
[Though, really, after having helped with the Secret Santa party, he wasn't anywhere near as nervous about preparing something like this as he could have been. Besides, it was with people he was mostly comfortable with (plus Panda), so that helped a lot, too.]
