A/N: Well, here is my first foray into the Star Trek fandom. This fic has been inspired by the fabulous, "The Art of Evading Hyposprays" by nemoed which you can see here. The lovely nemoed also wrote a drabble-ish fic to go with her fab art and I have, with her permission, expanded upon it. I hope you all enjoy.

It has received a wee bit of a spit and polish from aquila_star [LiveJournal] and clarrisani [LiveJournal] . The idea was based around my thoughts of what Starfleet and the Academy would have done in respect to the dead cadets and what effect it might have on those that survived.

A/N: This little plot bunny developed out of wondering about blending the TOS episode Charlie X with Reboot. It is also a little character study in a way about what those sort of 'gifts' can provide for our favourite medic; the positives and negatives. So there are a few spoilers for the Charlie X episode, but no Charlie in sight. I do apologise to aquila_star [LiveJournal] for talking to her for two hours about gas! So here be science and plot and sex. :D

I was drawn into the art and wondering how they managed to get to that situation in the first place. Hence this fic was born. Essentially this is just pwp, all 10,000 plus words of it! I was mesmerised by the look in Bones' eyes and how much both Pavel and Jim seemed to be enjoying it. I have to thank my beta's and cheerleaders for listening to me and having BETA WARS over the fic. If it is any good, it is all their faults.

I know I am jumping the gun on them, but when I heard that, the first thought I had was that my favourite song of the moment would be interesting. I had a little chat with a friend one night and I have now written my first ever song fic! Don't despair those who don't like to read song fic. The lyrics are included at the end of the fic, so you can pretend it isn't one at all if you want. ;) The title of the song also links to a youtube clip of it for your listening pleasure.

A/N: This fic is a birthday present for the lovely 7ofeleven [LiveJournal]. What else to give a friend on the other side of the world? Porn of course. Then it became a decision on which story to finish off/write for her. She was my main enabler when I wrote the original bordello au response that can be read here. That little ficlet was from Kirk's pov of view and I started wondering about what McCoy was thinking and so this story was born. I can guarantee that this is not the last I shall write in this AU, as it's just too much fun to play with.
To help people out, here are some images of the uniform that the officers wore in the US Calvary in the 1880's. Jim is a little less gold braidy and thankfully does not have to wear that hat! The normal cavalry soldier would be dressed in this way or like this.

Jim is a Calvary Officer with the US Army and Bones is a highly respected doctor in Virginia City, Nevada, one of the richest cities in the US at the time. This was also inspired by a photo in the weekly inspiration post over at jim_and_bones [LiveJournal] community which had some boys snuggling in a tent.
