1. OFFER, FUNCTIONS AND USE OF THIS WEBSITE
On our website, you will find comprehensive information about our product range and the nuuna brand.
Our website includes an online shop through which you can purchase our products. The focus is on premium notebooks and weekly planners, greeting cards, and coordinating accessories. The product range is complemented by high-quality writing instruments and accessories from selected manufacturers (collectively referred to as “products”).
In addition, we provide editorial content to convey the nuuna brand experience and offer inspiration related to analogue writing, creativity, and notebook culture.
NAVIGATION AND STRUCTURE
The website can be navigated via the main menu and the footer menu. These menus provide access to product categories, editorial content, brand information, and the customer account area. Clicking the nuuna logo will always return you to the homepage.
Businesses interested in bespoke notebook production are directed to the website of our brand brandbook, where configuration and consulting options are available.
The footer menu contains links to our legal notice, contact form, legal information regarding our online services, shipping and payment details, and newsletter registration.
The website is also operable via virtual buttons.
PRODUCT DISPLAY AND ORDERING
Using the main and subcategories in the menu, you can browse product listings and select individual items. Each product page contains all relevant information. The display can be refined using filtering options, or products may be accessed directly via the search function.
Products can be added to the shopping cart by clicking a clearly labelled “Add to basket” button. The entire ordering process — from the shopping cart to final confirmation — takes place directly on the website. Your consent to the processing of personal data is required to complete your order.
Alternatively, products may be saved to your wishlist by clicking the heart icon.
REGISTRATION AND ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT
Registered customers may log in using the appropriate fields. New customers may create an account by completing the provided form. Within your account, you can manage your wishlist and activate email notifications for products currently out of stock.
CHECKOUT, SHIPPING AND PAYMENT
At checkout, you may select from various shipping and payment options, provide the necessary information, and complete your order by clicking a clearly labelled “Place order” button. Navigation back to previous steps is possible at any time.
PAYMENT PROCESS
If you select an online payment method, you will be redirected at the final stage to the payment provider’s secure platform to complete the transaction.
2. LEGAL REQUIREMENTS FOR ACCESSIBILITY
Being an offer platform, this website belongs to the so-called ‘services in electronic commerce’ and features an electronic ordering function. Special legal requirements for accessibility apply to such offer platforms.
In general, this website must provide functions and procedures that are tailored to the needs of people with disabilities, and enable usability with digital aids. The functions of this website must be designed to be
- perceptible,
- operable,
- understandable and
- robust.
Perceivability means that the website’s information and components are presented in a way that makes them easily perceptible for all users.
Usability requires that the website's functions can also be used by users with limited mobility or mental capacity.
Understandability requires that the information and functions of the platform are logically structured, easily recognisable, and unambiguously labeled.
Finally, robustness requires that the website's content and functions can be used reliably and without restrictions, even when users use digital tools.
3. STATUS OF ACCESSIBILITY
Our website fulfills the accessibility requirements of the WCAG standard at level AA. Conformity was checked by means of a self-test.
The following accessibility measures have been implemented:
PROVISION OF TEXT ALTERNATIVES FOR NON-TEXT CONTENT
- Alt text for images: All images on the website are provided with meaningful and concise alternative text that conveys the content of the image.
- Alt text for links: All links include clear and understandable text that has a distinct meaning even without the surrounding context.
- Captions: For complex images (e.g., diagrams or infographics), descriptive captions or explanations are provided.
IMPROVEMENT OF KEYBOARD NAVIGATION
- Keyboard accessibility: All interactive elements (forms, buttons, links) are navigable via keyboard. A clear and consistent tab order has been established.
- Focus indicators: Visual focus indicators (such as colour highlights or outlines) have been added to show users which element is currently focused.
- Avoidance of complex key combinations: Wherever possible, the use of complex keyboard shortcuts that might pose difficulties for users with motor impairments is avoided.
CONTRAST OPTIMISATION
- Text and background contrast: All text on the website has been adjusted to provide sufficient contrast against the background, ensuring good readability for users with visual impairments (at least 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text).
- Avoidance of colour-only cues: Important information is highlighted not only by colour but also by text or symbols, to ensure it is accessible to users with colour vision deficiencies.
SUPPORT FOR SCREEN READERS
- Semantic HTML structure: The HTML code is structured to be correctly interpreted by screen readers, including the use of headings (h1, h2, h3), lists, and paragraphs in appropriate places.
- ARIA roles and attributes: ARIA (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) is used to make dynamic content and complex widgets accessible to screen readers (e.g., menus, forms, modals).
- Labels for form elements: All form elements (e.g., input fields, dropdowns, checkboxes) have clear and unambiguous labels that are correctly recognised by screen readers.
TEXT SIZES AND SCALABILITY
- Responsive design: The website is designed to be readable and accessible on all devices and screen sizes.
- Resizable fonts: Text can be enlarged without loss of functionality, either via browser settings or CSS adjustments (e.g., use of relative units such as em or rem).
- Avoidance of fixed layouts: Fixed pixel-based layouts are avoided to facilitate scalability across different devices.
ACCESSIBLE FORMS
- Error messages: All form errors are displayed immediately after input, with clear instructions on how to correct the errors.
- Clear labels: Each form field has a clear and concise label linked to the corresponding input (e.g., using the label tag).
- Autofocus on errors: When a form error occurs, the user is directed to the erroneous field to facilitate correction.
AVOIDANCE OF UNCONTROLLED MOVING CONTENT
- No flashing elements: Flashing or rapidly moving content that could potentially trigger seizures in people with epilepsy is avoided.
CLEAR NAVIGATION AND USER GUIDANCE
- Well-structured menus: Navigation menus are organised to be easy to understand, without confusing or redundant elements.
- Search function: A clearly visible and functional search feature is provided to help users find content easily.
DYNAMIC CONTENT AND INTERACTIONS
- Use of ARIA live regions: For dynamic content (e.g., form confirmations or notifications), ARIA live regions are used so screen readers can detect changes in real time.
- Visual and auditory feedback: Interactive elements such as buttons or forms provide clear visual or auditory feedback to assist users in interacting.
KEYBOARD NAVIGATION
- Page elements are marked to be accessible and operable via keyboard navigation.
- Interactive elements like forms, buttons, and links are accessible without a mouse.
VISUAL ADJUSTMENTS
- Maximum contrast is ensured by using black text on a white background, with scalability supported by native browser features.
- The site is fully scalable via browser functionality without loss of usability.
ERROR MESSAGES AND SUPPORT
- Specific form elements include explanatory help texts to improve understanding.
- Measures are in place to enhance the clarity of error messages (e.g., clear wording, visual cues).
- Assistance is provided to facilitate the use of forms and other interactive elements.
MOBILE ACCESSIBILITY
- The website is as accessible on mobile devices as on desktop, thanks to sufficiently large elements, adequate spacing between buttons, scalable text, and the ability to zoom
As far as we are currently aware, the following content is not yet fully accessible. We are working on accessibility, in particular on these measures:
AVAILABILITY OF ALTERNATIVES FOR AUDIO AND VIDEO
- Subtitles and transcripts: All audio and video content is provided with subtitles or transcripts to make the content accessible to deaf or hard-of-hearing users.
- Audio descriptions: For important videos containing visual information, audio descriptions are provided to make the content accessible to visually impaired users.
AUDIO AND VIDEO CONTENT
- Provision of transcripts and subtitles for audio and video content.
- Provision of audio descriptions for visually impaired users.
AVOIDANCE OF UNCONTROLLED MOVING CONTENT
- Automatic animations and videos: Automatically playing animations or videos can be stopped or paused at any time to prevent user overload.
ACCESSIBLE DOCUMENTS AND CONTENT
- Measures to ensure accessibility of PDF documents and other file formats offered on the website.
- Ensuring content is available in alternative formats (e.g., audio descriptions or subtitles) where required.
MOBILE ACCESSIBILITY
- Optimisation for the use of screen readers and interaction with touchscreens.
