The Reading Stage:A podium stands in the middle of a curved stage flanked by bookshelves. Whenever games or events occur a book will float itself off the shelf to the podium where it will open and pull people inside. Anything can be inside of a book. . . even entire worlds.
To the left side there is a glass bookshelf that is locked that has books without titles on them. These books are where the unfinished book drops go. It cannot be opened or damaged.
To the right side is the
story books that allow you to re-experience memories in them. Fun.
This is where games and events are held.

The Sauna/Bath HouseThe right side of the library has been fenced off by high dark green slats. There is a swinging door that never locks that separates this area from the rest of the library. Inside there is a freestanding sauna room and a few small public baths. There is also a shack that has a padlock on it that looks very out of place. The water is always fresh and clean and there's a little rustic looking dial for every bath to adjust temperature.
The sauna is maintained by
Aatos the sauna gnome and his noble steed the winged capybara you can speak with him or leave him offerings. If you don't leave him enough offerings his capybara will try to eat your hair and he will burn down the sauna. He is fickle and may not always come when called.
The GardenIn the middle of the library is a garden. Sunbeams come down from the 'ceiling' giving it a real
FFVII Church in the Slums vibe. The soil is fertile and then sun is always the perfect temperature.
Currently planted in the garden is: 4 tomato plants (little current sized tomatoes for two of them and two big stereotypical heirloom tomatoes for the other two), 2 coca trees (the look like minecraft trees but the cocoa pods are normal), 1 apple tree (cosmic crisp, the apples actually are a dark violet and look speckles with stars, it's fine, don't worry about it), and 1 banana bush (looks like a rose bush but grows banana bunches).
There is a placard in front of the garden that says "think of a memory and grow as a person."
These plants CAN be killed and need to be tended but can also be encouraged to grow by standing in front of the placard and showing someone else a memory. It will play on the placard like a movie, and while no internal thoughts there will be subtitles with things like [ emotional music swells ] and [ internal screaming ]. They will grow at the same pace as the plants in the books.
Community Wins DoorThere is a plain looking door to the right of the stage that looks like it's made out of ink. This door has several books drawn on it as well as the words "Natural Sciences & Languages Club ONLY". Only those two teams can open the door.
The books have titles scrawled on the spines: "Silk City Homecoming", "Peepin' Poppin'"
Inside the room is a mix of the two resources: all manners of silk fabric and silk thread, every kind of nice high quality marshmallow flavor but it is in the shape of a little bird.
Far Left Bookshelves:The living quarters shelves. They are mostly empty except for the single book in the team color with
Hearth and Harpm on the cover. When this book is opened whoever opens it is transported into the team house book onto the front 'lawn'. Whether or not the team home door is locked is up to the team. There is a floating book opposite the front door that says 'LIBRARY AT THE END OF THE WORLD' on it that characters can use to exit the team books and end up back in the library.

Center Bookshelves: Comforts & Humors
Right Bookshelves: Food
These books can only be 'activated' by taking them back to the team bookshelf. When these books are placed on a team book shelf they create an additional door/room inside the team house. There may only be
six books (including the team house book) on a team book shelf. So the team house book as well as up to four of the books below and one of the Special Books that were added during
this event.
(So it's 1 team house book + 1 special book + 4 books from the lists below.)
Only
teammates can remove or place books on their team shelves. If a sixth book is brought over to the shelf, the oldest book not the team house will automatically return to its original book shelf and the room/door within the team house will disappear. If someone was in the room they will be dumped out back into the library on their ass.
Anything you make with the book can be kept; otherwise, when the book is returned, so are the supplies. If you make a pillow with thread and feathers from one room and put the pillow in your room it will stay. Cans/jars/bottles that have things in them will also stay. However if you put a bunch of loose thread in your room it will NOT stay when the book is returned. So if you jar tomatoes or dry and grind spices down to powder those will remain, but the fresh spices and tomatoes will disappear.
WEAPONS and TOOLS will only stay in your possession as long as the book is in your team's possession. Yes, even if you make your sword into a cane-sword, sorry.
Pastures/fields/etc can be cultivated and kept as long as the books are in the possession of one team. However, as soon as the book is returned, these will 'reset' back to their default.
All crops/perishable resources/etc yield about enough food for 30 people a week comfortably. So, at the baseline the cows produce about a cumulative 35 gallons a week if properly milked and so forth. All crops take an IC week to 'get started' and then 7 IC days after planting can be harvested. Already growing crops will again yield about 30 people's worth of food per week. This isn't a hard line but more to encourage trader/cooperative gardening/creative use of resources and maintain a 'work for something' rather than 'excess and ease of food'. It takes about an IC month to successfully breed an animal to be ready for slaughter/maturity. While animals are inside their designated book rooms/pastures/etc they will not need food or anything but if you take them out into your team houses they will need food and leave messes places.
If a book is opened instead of put on the bookshelf, the text found within reads 'PUT ME ON SHELF TO ACCESS GOODS' or 'PUT ME ON SHELF TO ACCESS GOODIES' or if you're unlucky it might say 'PUT THE BOOK ON THE SHELF TO USE IT YOU IDIOT' and then in small text underneath 'this is a resource that is now accessible through Heart
h and Harp
m please use accordingly.'

CENTER: COMFORT & HUMORS
- Autumn Colors
This book creates a room in the team house that has all kinds of dry autumn leaves in it. All colors. Crunchy and perfect for a leaf pile. There are also curls of wood shavings, small twigs and wood pellets.
- Boats & Birds
A little lake surrounded by cattails and other foliage (cannot be removed or eaten but they look nice). There's some bird shaped paddle boats, some love-swan boats and all sorts of silly little hang out on the slow moving lake boats. There's some lockers with cute sun clothes (dresses, overalls, sunhats, fishing waders, etc) everything you'd need for dressing up for fishing. These clothes can only be worn in this book but there's also a photo booth with a big fake fish that will dispense polaroids (that can be taken with you).
There ARE fish in the lake and there are fishing rods but it's video game logic where you toss the hook in (no bait needed) and then have to do a tug and reel more like it's a video game than real life. There's a little wooden dock to sit on and enjoy the lake. It's always sunrise or sunset or the lazy afternoon sun like the perfect fishing day in a movie. The fish CAN be eaten but when you successfully catch one they turn into like a little block of fish, like that you'd buy from the store. You can only catch like 3 enough edible fish for small fish a day so it's like 3 servings of fish and any fish you catch after they just disappear. Video game logic.
- Chip the Glasses, Crack the Plates
This room leads to a pantry with a bunch of shelves. The shelves contain dishes, glasses, and cooking pots. No silverware or tools to make food. Just the items to put the food in. Someone has scrawled onto one shelf 'Opa! Break a plate for good luck.' These items can only be used in the kitchen/dining spaces. If they are used outside of these areas, they go poof and return back to the pantry.
If you managed to actually break all the dishware, in the very back of the pantry is a large kiln. Sand, silt, clay and other similar materials are put in piles within the room. The kiln has a thermometer to be able to change it to different temperatures for different results.
- Deep Sea Splendor
This book creates a room with what looks like a puddle, however the puddle is actually just a surfacing hole to an underwater cave. It's about twenty feet deep and filled with sea sponges and oysters that have pearls. The oysters are also edible and somehow the water is not salty don't worry about it.
- Do or Dye
This book creates a door to a room that is a small closet with some powdered dyes. These are food safe and only in the team colors. You can't mix them. They do dye beautifully, however.
- endless entertainment
Movies games books music 90s, but no televisions or gaming systems but there are some comic books and a single VHS player. When walking into the room it looks a bit like an old Blockbuster, poorly organized but well stocked.
- Guide on Bedazzling, Cheap Jewelry on a Budget, A
This book creates a room in the team house that has a variety of cheap jewelry items — plastic 'gold' chains, rhinestones, glitter and gluesticks.
- How To Be A Cool Wizard (Without Reading Anything or Making A Deal With Devils)
A Holodeck game room. Fully VR, fully customizable, you can go anywhere! Be anything!! But only within the confines of the room. (The Library is not liable for any damages to self that may occur within the Holodeck)
Places you can go MUST be form your character's memory so they like can input it into the system but once it's in there it can be in there for anyone to see. If this book gets 'checked in' then the memory bank basically wipes so there's nothing again.
- Hugs and Health
Medical supplies, including painkillers, bandages, topical disinfectant, where appropriate supplies for certain medicinal magic potions (legs) and blood for ""transfusions"" (vampire snacc).
There are more weird things than normal so the ratio of bandages to leg potions is like 1:4 for some reason.
- Knot Another Joke
This book creates a room in the team home that has a variety of rolls of linen. There are also numerous skeins of (undyed) wool yarn.
- Man Who Loved Cleanliness, The
This book creates a room full of plastic bins filled with lye and various oils.
- Meticulous Man, The
This book creates a room in the team house that has toenail clippers and also fingernail clippers. They are all very sharp and sterile. These are tools.
- Needles, Needs and Kneads
This book creates a room in the team home that has sewing needles, push pins and dough scrapers. These are tools.

This book creates a room in the team home that has cotton bolls, feather down and silk threads.
- SNIP. SNIP. SNIP.
This book creates a room that just has a lot of different scissors. Shears to miniature scissors. These are tools.
- Sword and the Stoner, The
This book creates a room in the team home that has swords. Also weed. The swords are tools and range from short sword to giganto sword. Should not be able to classify the shortest sword as a knife though, needs to be unwieldy.
- Ties the Bind, The
This book creates a door to a room that has shelves filled with zip ties and painters tape.
RIGHT: FOOD
- Every Green Under the Sun
This book creates a door that opens to a field of parsley. The parsley is green and yellow and orange but it's all just kinds of parsley.
- Hey Diddle, Diddle
This book creates a door in the team home that opens to a small pasture. In this pasture are 2 cows, 1 sheep and a goat. We are playing by minecraft rules so you feed them and can get milk or wool. If you kill them i guess. ping aj.
- How the Pumpkin Spice Latte Changed Society
This book creates a room in the team home that is full of cinnamon bark (dry), cloves (whole, dry), nutmeg (whole, dry) and ginger root (fresh bc that's how it is at the store). There are also kegs of white granulated sugar. Also three varieties of incredibly mid instant coffee - light roast, medium roast and dark roast.

This book creates a door that leads to a very small strip of sand that has a few coconut trees on it.

This book creates a door in the team home that opens to a small meadow with trees where wild edible mushrooms, wild strawberries, wild green beans and wild alliums can be found.
- LUFFA: A Miracle Plant

- Lumbering Forward, Antiquated Fuel
This book creates a door to a wooded forest. It's allll oak trees, even though the wood is slightly reddish in color it's still oak. Don't worry about it. This wood is fairly brittle, so it isn't good for building things but it is good for burning as it only takes ~5hrs to dry out to perfect firewood consistency after being cut.
- My Aunt's Kitchen
This book creates a door that leads to a cool dry shed that has a variety of clay pots in it. In these pots are soy sauce, fermented shrimp, white vinegar, black vinegar, gochugaru and shaoxing wine.

- Returning to Our Roots
This book leads to a dirt field that has been planted with potatoes, beets, parsnips, carrots, sunchokes and radishes.
- River Monsters
This book creates a door that leads to a wide very deep river. This river has exactly one thing in it besides water — bluefin tuna. Yes, it's a very deep, very fast current. Good luck. If you drown here you will get kicked out to the library proper just barely alive (hope someone knows CPR). Also this water IS salt water/ocean water.
- Running Afowl of the Law
This book creates a room in the team home that is a chicken coop with six hens. There is also one very mean goose.

Whisker & PawSet up on the Check Out Desk is a sign that says
Whisker & Paw. There is a line of fairy lights that circle a few feet out from the desk all the way around the wall. This is just marking off the cat cafe zone.
There are several cats that live here, they all have simple black collars with white nametags in the shapes of hearts —
+ Mr. Scratch - an entirely white cat with yellow eyes. He looks a little rough, the kind of cat that might offer you a beer and a cigar. He is very cranky and can only be coaxed into good behaviour with treat
and brushes.
+ Purrscilla, Queen of the Dessert - an overly affectionate huuuuuge black and cream colored maine coon. She wants snacc. Snack. Snack. She WILL crawl all over you for snack. She will headbutt you, dig into your pockets, she is a KIBBLE ADDICT.
+ Jinks - this cat is wiry and small and has blue fur. She is very scared and will hide around a lot and can't be coaxed with food or brushes or anything only patience and love. Her eyes are a lovely green.
+ Twin cats Fade and Joyd, they are grey in color with one blue eye and one yellow eye. They're mischievous kitties that are prone to nipping but not hard biting at least. They fight each other sometimes though. Very alarming screaming and hissing.
+ Also there is a hedgehog the size of a watermelon. It looks like a normal hedgehog despite being large and has a collar that reads 'CAT'.
There is a sign with rules:
1. 2 drinks and 2 snacks per day per person
2. be kind to the kitties
3. no violence of any kind allowed
4. do not steal the furniture
On the counter there is a Nespresso-esque machine and reusable mugs, a small sink and a miniature vending machine. The Nespresso-esque machine has any coffee shop flavor pod you can just put in and it will come out nice like you've ordered it at a cafe. You are limited to 2 a person per day though. There is a little trash can for the pods specifically, and there seems to be a consistent amount of pods/the trash can never overflows. If you try to get more than 2 a day you will get KICKED OUT OF THE CAT CAFE FOR TWO IC DAYS if you keep breaking rules you might eventually get full banned.
The vending machine does not require money and has single serving you can dispense at a time. There are candies, pastries and dried fruits. OR it can dispense a small handful of cat treats. Once again you can only have 2 a day. If you choose to use both on cat treats no one can judge you.
If anyone tries to be violent in the cat cafe, including arguing too much they will get kicked out and be banned for two IC days. Possibly. FOREVER!!1
There's a few small tables and cozy chairs for sitting.
There's cat toys and treats for them, clearly labeled.
There is also a sign with a whole bunch of fine print that basically says that all cats are indestructible, can eat as many treats as they want, cannot leave the cat cafe, they do not need litter boxes or produce waste dont think about it.
Unnamed Bar (It's the Depression, Baby)
A small kiosk/building inside the library that looks like
. Inside it looks like this.
A really nice elegant bar with a tree growing inside. It's bigger inside than it looks from the outside.
There is a number of empty bottles behind the bar. There is a bell on the bar top and a little sign: "Ring once and request a drink. Limit 3 per day per person."
If you ring the bell and just ask what you want it will appear in front of you. When you're done drinking it the glass will vanish.
If you misbehave in the bar much like the cat cafe you'll get banned for a period of time.
