I left out a few questions I didn't feel like answering/didn't have interesting answers for (plus, this was getting Long). Feel free to answer for yourself and let me know if you do! I love reading people's refletions on their art.

1. How many words have you written this year? 12,300 (as for published stuff to ao3. there's definitely more as drafts and meta pieces/nf creative writing, etc. not published to ao3)

2. What work are you most proud of (regardless of kudos/hits)? Rien Ne Va Plus because I had a ton of fun writing the setting for this one. Jounouchi/Pegasus is also a ship I've never written or considered before, so this was a sandbox piece where I had nothing planned and it was so kuch fun to just let loose. It's a lot of fun for me to just wing it with my fics.

3. How many works did you publish this year? 7

4. What work of yours has the most hits? Affairs That You Must Keep Liasonic had 191.

5. What work of yours got more feedback than you expected? Solace. A lot of people really liked this ficlet I wrote for someone's OCs, even people who know literally nothing about these characters. This is the only thing I've shared that's written in 2nd person and incorporated a line from a song, so it was super experimental for me. Really glad a lot of people liked it! This was posted primarily to [community profile] artcade  so the comments are all over there.

6. Favorite title you used? Affairs That You Must Keep Liasonic simply because I'm shocked it's not used by any other fics as of when I published it on ao3. What a great lyric! (and title for porn lol)

7. If you use song lyrics, which artist’s songs did you pull from the most? I don't really do this, but the title from the last question was taken from "Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend". I also took inspiration from a couple lyrics from "Neglected Space" by Imogen Heap when writing Solace.

8. Favorite pairing you wrote for this year? Jounouchi/Pegasus haha. Like I said, this ship spoke to me. I like both characters a lot individually, and I started writing something else with Pegasus this year too, so I think I didn't know before this year how much fun I have writing him. They're both so obnoxious in different ways, and I feel like their intesity compliments each other. That and they're total opposites! Flamboyant millionaire artist and broke hoodlum teenager lol.

9. What work was the quickest to write? I'm a notoriously slow writer haha, but I think the one I was able to write most quickly was a little ficlet I wrote for someone's OCs called Missed Connections. I tried to challenge myself to only write for 45 minutes and to be okay just writing a vignette. I think it turned out well, and it's a reminder to me that I can write decent short pieces. :)

10. What work took you the longest to write? Malis Avibus, mostly because it involved me doing a LOT of research and rewatching the opening scene of The Devils like 20 times. I listened to multiple podcasts, watched multiple videos, and read multiple articles and encyclopedia entries about The Devils of Loudon and general political going-ons in France at that time. So it wasn't really the writing that took long, but taking notes and drawing inspiration from the actual history. I still need to follow-up and write the next chapter for this cause [personal profile] miscellanium and I are tag teaming it cause I really admire their knowledge of art history.

11. How many WIP’s do you have in your docs for next year? Oh god idek. I don't plan on releasing fics I write like that. I'm not the kind of writer that has like set release dates or anything. Offhand, because I'm very disorganized with where I keep all of my drafts between Gdocs, my phone notes, and other writing programs on my computer, I think I have at least 6 unfinished drafts just sitting around.

12. What’s your longest work of the year? Rien Ne Va Plus (3407 words). I haven't been writing as much as I'd like this year due to being more busy than I'd like irl.

13. What’s your shortest work of the year? Missed Connections (586 words) for [personal profile] unlik3lygrader . I haven't published this nonfiction piece I only published on DW for [personal profile] loveisshort
OC, but that one was exactly 500.

14. What’s your most common “Additional Tags” tag? Not including "drabble" or "request meme", it's "post-canon" and "oral sex" tied.

15. Your favorite character to write this year? Pegasus lol. Wrote TWO fics featuring him. I think it's cause I watched Pyramid of Light for the first time this year, and his characterization in that specifically spoke to me (no more white wine spritzers after bed!) I also really enjoyed writing a recipe from the perspective of [personal profile] tempural 's OC Angus (another non-fiction? piece that was experimental that I need to have time/figure out how I want to port to ao3). I really love writing characters that are goofy dumbasses with hearts of gold(?)

16. The character that gave you the most trouble writing this year? Any fics involving other people's OCs simply because I'm not familiar with them and there's a fine line to walk that teeters on overstepping if I make something up with their background or personality. I always get worried people will be offended because I'm not understanding their character the way they do. But I guess that's also why it's *fan*fiction haha. Though I don't get the same security of knowing that the creator will never see my work so the stakes are definitely raised. I think it also takes a lot more creative energy to flesh out someone's character concept vs being able to have inspiration from a lengthy source.

17. What’s one pairing you want to explore next year? Absolutely Barometershipping (Fubuki/Manjoume/Asuka)! I started something a while back I never finished, and I got to play with these three for a bit in The Silence Between Them. They really deserve their own fic cause I have so much fun with their dynamic. (I just like to sexually bully Manjoume lol)

18. How many kudos in total did you get this year? 28 this year. Haven't written much because my life has been pretty hectic this year, and I mostly wrote very niche stuff. It's not all about kudos, and people should be more ok with writing without em. Hell, also writing without posting exclusively to ao3.

19. Which work has the most comments? Out of His Shadow. So happy I could write Yami Bakura/Bonz for an artist I really admire. Saw a very sweet comment too from someone who's newly into YGO because of her husband.

20. Did you do any collaborative works this year? Yes! Three actually! I wrote Affairs That You Must Keep Liasonic and Out of His Shadow based on artwork as part of [community profile] ygorarepairs mini bang. My artists were so fun to collaborate with, and I'm so appreciative of their help shaping these fics ❤️. Malis Avibus is written in collaboration with [personal profile] miscellanium 💕.

21. Did you write any gifts this year? Yes! A lot of them. Everything I wrote this year aside from those few exchanges were gift fics. I participated in [community profile] battleshipex and wrote Rien Ne Va Plus, and I wrote a bunch of short pieces for [community profile] battleshipex : Today Is Another Day To Find You (Homelandercest) and View on the parking lot (Jack Crawford character study). Someone really liked a heartshipping (Yuugi/Bakura) fic I wrote a couple years ago (Terrarium) and was inspired to write me a gift fic that plays more of the themes I hit on: No Beginnings, No Endings. All wonderful ❤️

23. What do you listen to while writing? Depends. Many times, I write in silence. Other times I'm in public, so I'm listening to the buzzing of whatever's happening around me. I listen to a variety of music, usually some kind of house/EDM but I also sometimes listen to showtunes. I listen to a lot of psychedelic music in general too. I don't really have music or anything I listen to that's exclusive to writing tbh. Sometimes I'll be like really into a certain character or ship dynamic and will make a playlist, but I haven't been doing that as much since there's not really anywhere good to host fanmixes these days.

24. Favorite line/passage you wrote this year? I had a LOT of fun with Rien Ne Va Plus! Partly this is cause it's a Vegas au, but I had the most fun writing penis snob Pegasus:
Pegasus put his hands in front of his face, creating a square with his index fingers and thumbs, and visually framed Jounouchi’s cock from a few different angles. “I’m going more for Baberini’s Faun, not Priapus.”

Jounouchi blushed and his eyes widened. He didn’t know whether to be embarrassed or offended as Pegasus handled his penis with the same kind of attention as one might when arranging fruit for a still life.

“It’s not small!” He drew his arms down to cover himself but was met with a curt, backhanded slap.

“I told you not to move.”

Jounouchi froze. This kind of action coming from Pegasus wasn’t totally unexpected, but this wasn’t what he’d agreed to when Pegasus made his original offer. Still, the sting on his cheek was what put him back into his place, and what’d really sting is was the realization that if he didn’t listen, he’d go through all of this humiliation for no payout in the end. It’ll just be a couple more hours, he reminded himself , then you’ll never have to feel this bastard’s hands on you ever again. Jounouchi walked his hands back up the pole and gripped it, grimacing as he made himself prone to Pegasus’ touch once more.

“That’s good, Joey-boy. You really are the obedient type. Someone certainly trained you well…”
25. Biggest surprise while writing this year? Honestly I think I was surprised by how much I like writing settings because that's always been something I've looked over in a lot of my fics. I tend to establish mood, and then move on pretty quickly to the characters, but I wanted to challenge myself this year to take more time describing the actual setting or clothing or anything items that might say more than my dialogue could. Really flowery descriptions of settings are some of my favorite things to read in other people's work, so it makes sense to apply this to my own writing.
