Dear Podficcer,

I'm excited you're matched with me! Happy ITPE, I hope you find something you're excited to record, and I look forward to listening <3   Below is some guidance on what I do and don't enjoy. Podfic fandom is a wonderful place and I've received so many beautiful gifts over the years. I am excited for whatever you might want to record for me.

Pinboard
One easy way to find something to record for me is to look at my pinboard. I've got a "wishlist" tag and a "tier1" tag which are composed of particular favorite fics, many of those are long stories that I'm not up for tackling myself but would love a podfic for (and a few short things in there too). 

My "considerpodficcing" tag is composed of fics that I really enjoyed, and would love podfic for, but am not sure they're actually a good fit for my voice so that's also a great place to look - if any of those strike your fancy I'd love to receive a podfic of them. I read a ton when I'm excited about a fandom and so I forget past stories I've read fairly easily (cue 'I have no memory of this place'.gif), so even if you pick something I've already read it can still be a like-new experience for me to listen to.

My 'topodfic', 'toedit', and 'topost' tags on pinboard reflect stuff I'm currently working on or intend to be working on shortly. I prefer not to listen to podfics of I'm working on until I'm done, so if you record something that overlaps with one of those I'll have to wait to listen, so it'd be my general preference for that not to be your choice, but also if one of those fics is really calling to you, I'll look forward to listening when I've finished my podfic work.

I'm down with multipods/repods, so you don't have to be deterred if you see I've already recorded something, though I do have a slight preference to receive a podfic of something I haven't recorded because that helps expand fics podficced in a fandom, but if you're excited to repod - go for it, I enjoy hearing other folks version of a story as I get to experience it in a new/different way and that's cool.  If I've made a podfic of it in the past ('podficcompleted' tag on pinboard).

I have a 'BPauthor' tag for authors with Blanket Permission statements so that could be useful. Please don't feel like you have to record something I've pinned on pinboard, I also super love getting to listen to podfic of new-to-me stories so whatever you find that you think I would like I can't wait to hear.


Shipping
When I have a strong ship I don't tend to like alternative pairing arrangements using those characters, my ships are probably pretty clear from the content I create/consume (pinboard tags). This extends to not wanting additional characters added to an OTP, if I'm open to polyshipping for a fandom I'll specifically make note of that, but otherwise assume that a noted OTP is inclusive of just the characters listed and exclusive of anyone else. I've noted my OTPs as they apply in notes about the specific fandoms below.

For general editing recording info: I'm very sensitive to music/volume issues so if you're going to include music please do not have it under the narration and make sure it's reduced volume/less than the volume of narration if used as breaks between sections. Please do not insert static. Cellphone notification sounds, or other sound effects, are okay as sound effects if appropriately volume balanced but if that's not something you're confident with probably err on the side of caution and forgo effects (or provide an no-effects version) when making a podfic for me. There are no minimums to ITPE, so please don't feel you have to push yourself if you're uncomfortable with recording longer, but in case it's useful to know I generally prefer podfics that are longer rather than shorter podfics, so prefer something longer than 10 minutes, ~40 minutes is a good sweet spot for me length-wise I think, I'll also very happily listen to something hours and hours long.

Things I LIKE:

• Voice-on-the-radio/falling-for-the-DJ!AUs - I will listen to this trope regardless of whether I know the fandom.
• Xeno/Xenophilia/Xenobiology (including humans seen as aliens/weird so this encompasses Gen 'humans are space orcs' stuff as well as monsterfucking) - I will listen to this trope regardless of whether I know the fandom.
• Self esteem issues/poor self-worth, imposter syndrome, self-sacrifice, worms!fic, including suicidal ideation but please no permanent character death.
• fake dating
• timeslide/go-back-and-fix-it timetravel where a character re-lives their life from some starting point knowing what they experienced in the future the first time around.
• Competency.
• For fandoms that are mundane to start I love fantasy/magic AUs.
• Identity shenanigans
• I'm happy to receive all ratings G-NC17.
• Slash (primary interest) or femslash (secondary interest)

Maybe/Sorta:

• Soulmates - this trope is hit or miss for me, sometimes I love it, sometimes it doesn't work for me. If you find a soulmates fic for an OTP of mine and you love it, I'd be interested
• Hanahaki - this does good pining / self-esteem/worth issues but often falls a little flat for me - like it should work but but I often wind up feeling disappointed, so unless you think the fic is brilliant probably best to steer clear of this trope.
• I'm generally not engaging in RPF spaces these days, so would say no to RPF with exceptions for Radio AUs or Xeno/Xenophilia/Xenobiology AUs where I will accept any fandom including RPF.
• Epistolary / unusual format / social media - I'm not fond of these as a reader and typically avoid them, as a listener I'm okay with them as multivoice productions.

Do NOT Want:

• 1st or 2nd person
• noncon/rape
• age-regression/de-aging,
• humiliation (this applies to both PWP and Gen fics)
• For PWP: use of the word 'slut' in just about any context, use of "mommy" or "daddy" or variations in sexual context
• derogatory language used in sexual situations,
• Somnophilia
• arranged marriage
• infidelity
• teacher/student
• incest
• omegaverse
• Mpreg
• regency AU
• gender swap (e.g. 'always a girl'), unrequested changes to a canon character's gender/race,
• miscommunication that could be solved by a simple conversation as the main driver of plot
• sick fic (particularly illness-related sickfic is a do not want, injury sickfic can be boarderline okay - illness or injury occuring in fic are fine as a plot element but not as a focus please),
• This is hard to define but anything where a character is experiencing intense feeling of hopelessness/being trapped is something to avoid (that's hopelessness around outside circumstances)
• Character bashing (sadly this trope gets tied to worms!fic or self esteem issues a lot which frustrates me - you can look at someone's self esteem issues without bashing the rest of the cast!)
• Horror
• Crossovers
• Coffee shop / flower shop / tattoo parlor / high school / college etc (college radio is an exception)
• Mundane/modern AUs for fantasy/sci-fi sources
• nonconsensual lack of control of body/actions (e.g. non-consensual possession, hypnosis, mind control, programing, etc)
• slurs

If it's useful: name Rhea314 - Rhea like ree-uh and 314 like "three one four" each letter said separately (not three hundred fourteen or three fourteen). She/her pronouns. I've written some stuff and have Blanket Permission and am always thrilled if someone wants to record my fic, but also there are for-sure better authors out there so no pressure to record anything of mine.

With all that out of the way, here are my fandoms for this ITPE:

The Murderbot Diaries by Martha Wells
I love ART (Asshole Research Transport | Perihelion | "Peri").  ART/Murderbot is my OTP and I am happy for anything focused on these two, which can be in a queerplatonic way, or in a romance-but-not-sex way, or in a romance-and-sex way. I'm also happy for something ART focused looking at ART's connections with it's crew (Particularly Iris and/or Seth). If ART isn't your jam I do enjoy Murderbot's friendships w/ Perservation folks but would prefer not to receive anything shipping Murderbot with someone other than ART. This fandom is an exception for my 'no first person' DNW

The Lays of The Hearth-Fire by Victoria Goddard
Cliopher "Kip" Mdang/Artorin Damara | Fitzroy Angursell is my OTP, I read Cliopher as sex-favorable asexual so am happy to receive shipping fic of all ratings for this fandom. I very much enjoy Cliopher's competence and am happy for court intrigue / government-focused fic or adventure having fic. The rest of the household is nice but I'd prefer not to receive something focused on anyone other than Cliopher or Artorin|Fitzroy. This fandom is an exception to the 1st person & 2nd person DNW. I do have a preference for fic in 3rd person, but will accept fic that alternates between 3rd person for Cliopher and cannon-typical 2nd/1st for Artorin|Fitzroy.

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves
Xenk Yendar/Edgin Darvis is my OTP. I also appreciate Holga and her friendship with Edwin and the Holga&Edgin&Kira family relationship. I'm not interested in Simon/Doric but am okay with that appearing in the background as a ship. I enjoy quest fic and Xenk/Edgin courting or get-together fic.

9-1-1
Eddie Diaz/Evan "Buck" Buckley is my OTP. This is a bit of an odd one in that I'll be watching the show live as it airs this fall. Right now I'm kind of holding my breath in this fandom as I don't know where it's going and I'm not sure what I want from it into the future. Tommy is nice but Buck/Tommy isn't my ship (please no Tommy bashing!). I was pretty frustrated about the shows choices with Eddie's character in S7 (particularly around Kim, and Marisol, and Christopher). So what I want from this fandom and request right now is AUs, I am totally here for fantasy / modern-with-magic / supernatural / sci-fi AUs in this fandom, and it's a big enough fandom that those do exist, and I haven't kept up with the fandom super strongly over the summer so there's likely even some I haven't read. General preference for things sort of ignoring S7, either written pre-S7 or timeskipping forward to gloss over S7 and have it's issues resolved/ignored by the fic. Please avoid fic that has character bashing for any of the main characters or their love interests.
