[This post is for the empathy flood so backdated to the 13th, shall we say. For this event Joshua's feelings such as they are will be projected, as receiving is something he can do on his own with his usual powers.
Anyway.
It seems one Yoshiya Kiryu has been caught with his pants down, so to speak - or at least caught out of his rooms on a revealing flood like this. Maybe he's conveniently not noticed anything going on, fond as he is of sometimes just ignoring his communicator even when he should be keeping on the up and up.
Maybe he's feeling sorry for himself? He's sitting at one of the big low tables paging through a book showcasing feats of architecture. Glass and steel and cities, arches of stone, glorious windows. He misses Shibuya like the nagging ache of a tooth. Mr. H should have come by to pick him up by now if he was going to... he's long overdue. A new composer must have ascended the throne. Maybe Sho, he'd wanted the post. Neku wouldn't suit it even if he has the raw potential - it's all going to waste, unformed.
He pages back and forth through the book with his chin propped in one hand. The atmosphere around him is rather sullen, prickly like the beginning of an electrical storm. Not that he'll actually really be able to enforce his miffed temper the way he'd like to, so approach with blithe abandon, all.]

But she can't just sit in her room for however many days, either.
Still, the sense of someone feeling sorry for themselves, and homesick is a bit tough to resist - partly because she's feeling the same sorts of things lately.
When she sees the guy with the book - an architecture book, no less - well, that seals the deal. Maybe they can cheer each other up.]
The more modern stuff is what I really go for. What about you?
no subject
There's a hint of familiarity to her. Someone he's spoken to before, while he was just prodding around the network, seeing what was what.]
I'm fond of cityscapes. [A thin smile cut her way. Maybe he does remember.] You're an archificionado?
no subject
She thinks she might've talked to this guy once before - but it was probably during a flood, not really the best time to be talking to new people.]
Architect-in-training, actually. I was studying in Paris, before I came here. One of the nicer cityscapes, if I do say so myself.
no subject
I've never been. Are you native to the city, stranger? Or did you go abroad to study there?
no subject
No, I'm not a native. Just there for school.
What sort of city are you from?
no subject
I'm from Shibuya. A district of Tokyo. It's quite the hopping place. [To say the least. He tilts his head.] And where are you from?
no subject
I really want to go to Tokyo, but I haven't had the chance, yet. I'm originally from upstate New York, which is pretty, but not in an urban way. [More like, forests and mountains.]

I went to Paris because they have the best architecture school in the world. Also, I got a scholarship.

The vague interest he expressed before is solidifying anyway. At least it's a distraction from thinking about Shibuya, Mr. H - no, not going down that road again now.]
Remind me of your name, dear?

Those with any flood-triggered perceptions, however, can see his entire outer facade is an utter lie. Everything about his form betrays what is internal, and unnaturally so. The outer appearance: the usual, classic Reaver. All else is absolute misery.]
no subject
He lifts his head and lances a look at Reaver across the room. His voice, not loud, is still pitched to cut across the silence.]
Excuse me, your despondency is showing.
even later than the late we talked about :c
backtagging ain't no thang I just want you OwO
He gets up to put the book away and gets nearer to where Lua's ensconced in the stack as he does. He's a nosy bastard enough to stop with a shelf between them and then duck down a bit so he can peer at her baldly with amused slate blue eyes through the space between the books and the roof of the shelves.
The benefits of shelves without walls between two sides...]

...oh, that's who's watching her. She leans down a bit, looking curiously back, but only holding eye contact for a minute. This is weird and she doesn't like it. ]

Hello there.

Good place to look out.
as you can see I'm massively slow rn and probably will be for another week so
yet- you're just there, and he noticed. Like any port in a storm, any distraction will do in a pinch.]Ah! Those dulcet tones... don't tell me, don't tell me. [He smiles! Like a prince.] Lua, right?
