Access information from the calendar event in a macOS automator calendar alarm

I'm using the macOS Automator.app to create a calendar alarm. Is there any way to get information about the calendar event, which triggered the alarm, inside the workflow? In particular, I would like to know the title of the event.

I already tried to use the "Event summary"-action, but unfortunately the calendar alarm does not seem to receive any input.

My current test workflow looks like this

Screenshot of the automator workflow. It starts with an "Event Summary" action, then a "Run Shell Script" action which extracts the title from a calendar event, followed by "Set Value of Variable" action to set the variable "Storage" to the result of the shell script and finally a "Display Notification" action which shows the content of the variable "Storage"

System information:

  • macOS 26.2
  • Automator.app 2.10
  • Calendar.app 16.0
