With Black Friday round the corner, research conducted by McCann Birmingham for Prologis, a leading owner, investor and developer of logistics real estate, has unwrapped the nation’s shopping habits, showing that nearly half of all UK shoppers receive three to five parcels to their doors each week. 

Prologis UK, a leading investor, owner and developer of logistics property, announces a new lease with Pro Tiler Tools, part of Topps Group, a leading supplier of high-quality tiles and tiling equipment, for DC2 at Prologis Park Pineham, in Northampton, bringing the park to full occupancy. Following a comprehensive refurbishment, the nationwide brand has signed a 15-year lease to use the unit as a base for future growth plans. 

Leading property investor, owner and developer, Prologis, today announces a landmark investment in Cambridge Biomedical Campus (CBC), paralleling a commitment from the Chancellor to the life sciences sector in the Autumn Budget. Completing Phase 2 of the new development brings Prologis’ total investment in the Campus to $635m (£500m).

Prologis Europe has reached a remarkable milestone, raising over €1 million in support of the Stelvio for Life Foundation through its decade of participation in the Stelvio for Life Challenge. The extraordinary event challenges participants to hike, run or cycle 21 kilometres up the iconic Passo dello Stelvio from Bormio, Italy, all in pursuit of one life-changing goal: funding personalised, DNA-based cancer treatments.

Leading global tyre manufacturer and longstanding Prologis UK customer, Hankook Tyre UK’s (Hankook) continued growth meant that they required a larger unit for their logistics operations, doubling the size of their existing logistics centre.

Servicing national supermarket chains, IFCO, the world’s leading supplier of reusable packaging containers, was looking to expand its presence in the UK’s logistics ‘Golden Triangle’, to take advantage of its prime location in the Midlands.

We’re pleased to share with you the second edition of our Responsible Business Report. It’s safe to say that much has changed, both at Prologis and in the world at large, since we published our first report, over five years ago. This White Paper, commissioned by Prologis UK, aims to explore the evolving landscape of the logistics and supply chain sector in the UK. The focus throughout is on the changing sector landscape, demographics of logistics personnel, and on the challenges and opportunities within this sector to be addressed immediately.

Social value has rapidly risen up the corporate agenda, partly due to increased investor and consumer interest in corporate ESG performance. The pandemic played an important role, too, making the social ‘S’ in ESG, even more important.

Over the past 15 years Prologis UK, in partnership with Planet Mark, has put sustainability firmly at the forefront of their developments; embedding it into the design process, operations, community impact and supply chain. The output of this process is easily quantifiable; cumulative whole-life carbon reduced, embodied carbon mitigated, and acreage of rainforest protected have all been tracked.

In the UK, the concept of social value has taken on increasing importance, particularly within the real estate and construction sectors. Social value refers to the broader economic, social, and environmental benefits that projects and organisations bring to communities, going beyond financial profitability. The UK government formalised its commitment to social value through the Social Value Act of 2012, encouraging public bodies to factor in social value when awarding contracts.
