[She has nightmares of the yellow-eyed boy all the time. She doesn't know why or where they come from, but she always sees those same yellow eyes and hears that awful cackle.
It's awful and terrifying. And she always wakes up in a cold sweat after the nightmares.
It's a normal day, really. Kido's on her way to school--it's early. She has duties in the classroom today. She's got her headphones in and she's half asleep, leaning on the barrier next to her. She hears someone else enter the train but she doesn't bother to pay attention. Probably someone else getting ready for the class, so it's not important.
But when the train jolts to a stop so hard that Kido tumbles from her seat, she looks up at her companion. The intercom tells them to please remain inside the train--there is no safe exit. But Kido isn't paying attention.
She's instead, gaping in horror at the fact the boy from her nightmares is standing in front of her and she's on the floor of a train.]
[Konoha had actually been mostly asleep from where he stood on the train. This was way too early to be awake. The teacher said he had to come early though, to talk about how he keeps falling asleep in math class.
The jolt almost has him losing his footing. It was only ingrained habit from sleeping on whatever transportation he was in as it picked up passengers that keeps him on his feet. Unlike usual however, the train isn't starting again--and the conductor says they can't go or leave? But they're so high up...
A quick look around confirms it's only Konoha and one other person in this car, though they had the misfortune to tumble to the ground.
Konoha holds out a hand when he sees Kido staring where she was sprawled.]
[She stares at the hand before she jerks back in fear. How does she address this? The man with this face has killed her a dozen times in a dozen different ways in her dreams.
She shakes her head. She doesn't get up though.] I'm fine. [Don't touch her.]
[The oddly familiar girl flinches back and that causes a weight to settle over his shoulders. She shouldn't be afraid of him. He's has the ghost of a feeling that she should be tall and confident, a lion sure of its place at the top of its pride and food chain.
He wants to shield her from what's paining her.
.....But how can he do that if Konoha is the problem?
Konoha doesn't know what to do, and the indecision reins over him, visible in his face, slumped shoulders and retreating hand.
Quickly deciding he's not going anywhere until this girl is once more the leading lioness, Konoha backs up a step and then plops on the floor.]
[It takes her a moment to regain her composure, watching him sit, evaluating how much of a threat he is.
His eyes are red and not yellow. His hair isn't black. Maybe she imagined the similarity. She scowls to herself as she pulls herself up to sit straighter. Try to come off more confident than she is.
[Probably better than just sitting here. If it was a control problem they could just go back to their seats, and if it was a hijacking like she thought, well, not like going towards the front would be any worse than being a sitting duck.
Konoha rocks up onto his feet and holds a hand out to Kido.]
[She pushes herself up from the ground, not entirely willing to touch him yet. She pauses to lean over a seat to see exactly where they are--well, it's not good to be this high...]
Kido. Let's move. [She gestures toward the front of the train, moving to the connecting door, only to find it completely sealed.]
[Well, there goes that idea. Disregarding it, he moves to look at the windows. Most are sealed off, not made to open. There's a set near the middle for emergencies though. It doesn't take more than a moment for him to start shoving at one to try and get it to open. No dice. Whatever sealed the main doors must have sealed the windows too.]
They won't open.
[But then, there's always another option with glass--] I can break one?
[The muffled "boom" and the shaking easily settle Konoha's mind. Without any more warning than that, Konoha pulls his uniform coat off and wraps it around his fist--a small concession to safety since Kido mentioned it--and lets a punch fly.]
What if they're blowing up the tracks?! [Well, then they're screwed no matter what. The train shifts again and she has to catch herself on him and she jerks as far away as she can again.]
[There's not much to do if the tracks are also going, at least, not if both directions are going. The shocks are getting tighter together and worryingly close.]
[Alley-oop and out the window Kido goes! Once he's sure she's on her feet again Konoha releases her and jumps out too. That wasn't too hard. Now to pick a direction.]
[The not so muffled "booms" aren't reassuring, but at least the two were able to move away now. Konoha keeps an eye on Kido's balance, but is more than content to let her lead their escape.]
[Konoha is really having serious thoughts about just swimming instead. The bridge keeps shaking more and more, and there is only so much more it could take. At a particularly heavy shake, Konoha makes sure to be ready to grab Kido if she slips.
Thankfully, the end of the train doesn't look to be too far ahead. Maybe they'll manage to get away that easy]
[If they plummet from here, Kido's not sure they'll survive the fall to the water.] We need to get off the bridge before it collapses completely... [JFC tho she's gripping the railing super tightly because she feels like she's gonna just get thrown from it.]
[As that large quake calms down slightly, konoha makes his way next to Kido. Earlier he was keeping a better distance, but the worrying shakes were driving him to come closer.]
:D

All day every day

The sealed door poses a problem. How will they get to the front?
....Roof hatch?
Konoha turns his head up to look for one, and seeing it, stares. And then he looks at Kido. And back. Again.
He could probably lift Kido up to it--]
Hey, what about...?
