I really do recommend Two Guys and a Girl, aka Nathan and Some Other People. It's not just funny if you're a Nathan Fillion fan (though that makes it extra special). It's actually - get this - a funny show. It's not so much like Friends because it's not as catch-phrase-y and Friends turned into a soap opera during the second half of its run, anyway. It's kind of cracked out a la Seinfeld but not as random and the characters are infinitely more likeable. And they do gimmicky stuff like have an episode with no dialogue that actually furthers the plot, or hilarious Hallowe'en episodes that exist outside of canon.
Seriously, this show has made me laugh until I cried. And if you didn't already know, I have been uploading episodes from seasons 2-4 to YSI. And
vandonovan is linking to them, with plot summaries, so if you ever wanted to give it a try, if you ever had a half hour to spare and felt like laughing, or if you just like a little crack... please go and check it out.
"But is there slash?" you ask? Oh, you crazy slashers. *laughs gaily* These boys know where it's at. We have Hallowe'en gender-bending. We have two best friends declaring their love for one another at a wedding (the justice of the peace promises to marry them later, when it's legal in Massachusetts :)), we have a man get into bed with his best friend, and the friend protests, "people talk about us enough as it is!"
Watch the show, folks... because Johnny wanted to be a cowboy.
