Oh, one more thing about forcing my parents to watch Firefly:
So we're watching the pilot, and it's the scene at the end where Simon goes to check on River and explains to her that they'll be there for a while, and she's all "you came for me!" while touching his face. And my dad, who hasn't been paying attention, launches in with the "who is that? What's he doing? Why did she say that?" questions of someone who hasn't been paying attention. We explain that they're brother and sister, and outline their tale of woe briefly.
And then my dad asks, "so, are they having sex or something?" My mom goes, "NO!" all horrifed. I cackle.
Crazy Space Incest: apparent to even bystanders!
