The past several days I haven't been playing Guild Wars - either too busy with assignments, or too sick, or too tired, or some combination of all of the above. But the past two days I've been going to bed early and getting up around 4/5am, and what have I been doing to kill time while I wait for an appropriate hour to go into work? Farming for gold via Nightfall character creation!

I've actually farmed around 11p over the past two days (and mathematically I'm really not sure how that happened, because I haven't been spending ridiculous amounts of time doing it!), so I feel like I've really accomplished something. Knowing that I can buy 1.5k armor for Parminder, for example, and not break the bank, or even end up in the single digits of platinum, is a nice feeling.

I don't think I'm going to splurge for her just yet, though. She's only level 11 and has the rest of the Nightfall campaign to look forward to. I'd almost rather just have her fight for collector's armor at this point, than spend money on armor I'm not 100% in love with (and I still am not fully won over with any of the Ranger armor sets). I'd rather spend the money on more white dye to complete Neriah's look, although even that would wipe out more of my hard-farmed cash than I'd like right now. Not to mention completing my Vabbian armor sets! In fact, I think I can finally afford chest armor for Nanashi.... huh! Yay! \o/ So, I'm probably looking at more farming in my future.

I've been thinking about what I want to do with Ronyn. I really don't feel like playing through Nightfall again with another Dervish, especially as I still don't have a Paragon character yet. I enjoyed Maree just fine, but kind of in the way that I enjoy Nanashi: they're melee, so you can kind of hack and bash your way through the game without any real skill. Now that I've beat Nightfall, I find that I don't enjoy playing Maree as much, and I don't feel nearly skilled enough to really be worth taking her around and doing other missions in other campaigns for the fun of it. So the thought of doing it ALL OVER AGAIN is... not appealing. BUT! Then I thought of maybe using Ronyn as a runner. Ha! Hahaha! 'Cause he's RONON. A RUNNER! HAHAHA. None of the people familiar with only SGA and not GW, nor the people familiar with GW and not SGA, will get that. Which means that only [insanejournal.com profile] vandonovan will get it, and that makes me sad. LOL.

Anyway, Ronyn being a runner character makes me want to keep him. So he might get to live! (yes, I know I could turn Maree into a runner, but. but. shut up! I had a point!)

I've been thinking about how to make Stormer into a GW character lately. I just went through and took screencaps of all of the character face pages for all of the classes through all of the campaigns, hahaha. Currently nobody has the correct shade of blue for her, and nobody has the right full, curly hairstyle (esp. not with a flower in it). However, Prophecies Rangers have a nice wavy hairstyle with a flower in it, though no face options I really like (and of course, not the right color, and I don't want another Ranger). Factions has a Necromancer option with curly dark purple hair that has a flower in it, but, again, no face options that really fit (and, egads, not another Necro! ;_;). Both Prophecies and Factions mesmers have curly-haired options, and I think I need to go back and look at the face options to see what's on offer (I don't really want another mesmer, but it might be nice to have a hot one in contrast to Blehthany's constant stream of ugly, hahaha).

Finally, Nightfall has both Rangers and Elementalists with big bushy 'fros that are... well, not right, but not utterly WRONG, either. Alas, no shade of blue, and the faces are just really REALLY wrong (though one Ele face has the right blue eyes and even a beauty mark).

Barring Stormer, I'm torn between two possible Paragon models: Aiden Ford, and Shayla-Shayla from El Hazard (come on, she'd be PERFECT!). As you can see, I'm just not wedded enough to any of these ideas to actually make a character and stick with it. Hell, even Parminder had the axe of death hanging over her head until recently. Funny story about Parminder! I kept hearing about this exploit where you could get low-level characters over to Lion's Arch, and people seemed to be pretty hush-hush about it. Little did I know it's in the freakin' GUILD WIKI. So I tried it.... and it worked! And little level 8 Parminder, who hasn't even completed Jokanur Diggings, was accepting the quest to go over to Cantha. Which she did. She and her heroes are now level 11, and I haven't even finished with all the Kaineng Center quests yet. \o/ Also, the other day, I decided on Pyromancer insignias for Neriah's armor. Now we're all caught up, I think.
