Uh.... yeah. Well, it was.... a movie. We (best friend Syd and other good friend Ellie) laughed a lot, when we maybe weren't supposed to. We laughed the laughter of pain. Padmè said, "Hold me, Ani. Hold me like you did by the lake on Naboo," and we laughed and laughed. Obi-Wan popped up in the middle of General Grievous's army and said, "Hello, there!" and we laughed and laughed. Anakin said, "what have I done?!" and we laughed and laughed. Then he said: [herky-jerky robot movements] "NOOOOOOOOOO!" and we laughed and laughed and laughed and laughed. We are possibly the worst fans in the world. But, yeah, I think I won't be back to see this one again, and that makes me sad.
Okay, two moments that really got me in the gut were: when Anakin was laying on the ground after Obi-Wan chopped off his limbs, and he's all "OMFG I HAAAAATE YOUUUUU!!!!!!!" That was awesome, and I totally bought it. The other moment was... hmmm. No, I guess that was it. Oh, oh, I guess also the part where the Emperor names Darth Vader and his theme plays for the first time. I admit it, I got chills.
For the record? The novelization was so much better. I mean, I didn't hate the movie (I think the tagline should have been "Episode III: Better than Episode II"), I was just... disappointed, I guess. End of a freaking era and this is it? Meh. I'm all old-skool and want to watch Episode IV now - and not digitally re-mastered 25th anniversary Episode IV, either. Episode IV without the improved effects and the Jabba footage, the one where Han shot first.
