My MacbookPro has been in the shop since Saturday, owing to the keyboard not working 100% since I spilled water on it. I left it with the Apple Geniuses basically for an estimate; if the price quoted for the repairs was over a certain (undetermined) amount, they could keep it and I would just go buy the latest cheap Gateway off the floor (which has the same stats as my MBP btw; yes, I know, quality counts, but at $750 a laptop is more like a toaster than a car and easier to replace in 2 years than repair, so no skin off my nose). The price they quoted me was $151 however - apparently the water damage was only to the keyboard and nothing more essential. So it lives another day and I will pick it up sometime.... maybe tonight.

In the absence of my gaming rig and in light of the fact that I can't connect to Perfect World at the moment without some elaborate proxy server jerry-rigging, I have been left with my outdated Gateway and a list of MMOs to try to pass the time with. Yes, I have WoW installed, but I just am not feelin' it, especially not after I've been so spoiled by PW. With PW I am like "ooh ooh and then after I kill 20 of those, I can turn in my quest, level, get a bunch more skills, and buy a new set of gorgeous armor!" With WoW I'm like "oooh... uh.... I can.... um... *logs out*" Sad but true.

Zu Online might hold my interest for a few hours. I do like the animated style and it's just plain fucking EASY to play. And easy on the graphical requirements - a very important detail when dealing with an outdated laptop. I tried downloading and installing Tantra Online, which I heard was pretty, but when I tried to start it up I got a Trojan warning, so so much for that.

I also have downloaded Lineage II. I know, I know, Korean grindfest of evil, but it's not like I'm going to be playing it so hardcore as to get to level 800 trillion or anything; just for a few more days until the Perfect World people get their server switched over. I just want to see if it will look nice on my computer, is all. I was also going to try Mabinogi again, but it seems the closed beta is over and the open beta doesn't start until March 5. And by that time I'm hoping I'll be able to get back on PW on a regular basis again, so OH WELL. Looks like it's Zu Online for me, mainly. *cough*Or Lineage II*cough*

Tonight, I sing! Hope my cough doesn't slay me after three hours of that.

You whom I can never find. And also.. uhm? You buy your armour?

*blinks*

Huh. I've found all of mine - drops from monsters (no I cannot just call them mobs - eeewh!)

I tried to pimp my 14 yr old brother into PW. Unfortnautely my mother's declared that only the laptop can go online. And I don't think it has the specs. Damn shame. He's missing beauty with his Ps2 (though I'm glad my mother got with the times and got him something good. He's got all DC games. I'm so proud)

Also, you're still sick?

*careful hugs filled with echinacea and sunshine.*

I know! I haven't been able to play in like a week because without proxy server jerry-rigging, I just time out and can't log in :(. That and my MBP has been in the shop and my cheap Gateway laptop hasn't got the juice to run it properly (seriously, when I finally loaded it up on there, I couldn't even tell what my characters looked like anymore!). I've just got the Mac back today, but still can't get a connection. Sigh. I may look up some more proxy servers to try tonight just to get my fix in, I don't know. I hate missing everybody online!

I still have a teensy bit of a cough; that's always the last thing to go with me, especially when I'm exerting myself by talking a lot (or in this case, singing).

*hugs back; is non-infectious!*

The server login problems are resolved on my end.

I need to research what happens if you die past Level 10. Because I am not looking forward to harshness. Oh no I'm not.

I apparently also need to look up vigor *shrugs* Oh PW, you and I and your many many forums are getting indecently close.

Yay for you feeling better. Yay!

When you die, you get a pop-up window with a button to go back to the nearest town. You lose a little bit of EXP. That's it. I died with something like 4% experience in my bar and when I went back to town it was down to like 1%. So I don't think death is that bad unless, of course, you're dying a whole lot :).
