Personally, I'm hoping that it'll eventually be revealed that Snape has been treating Harry poorly in order to make Voldemort and the Death Eaters believe that Snape was still loyal to their side. I'm not sure JKR is going to be that subtle with her villains, but it would totally make sense.
Wouldn't 'Voldemort and the Death Eaters' be a great band name?
You know, that would just make the whole series for me. I would love JRK forever if she did that. And I could love Snape if she did that, too! Win-win!
