Calling all Liciaens

[Cai'a had so wanted to go when trouble went down, but as King, he could not just charged headlong into danger, not when he only so recently taken the throne and the line of succession is still muddled.

However the strange, half-remembered dream he had from his restless sleep told him this was no normal case of banditry even before the reports came in. He knew he had to get to the bottom of it, and immediately sent out messengers with a summons which read as follows:]

[Filtered to Roy, Mercia, Daisho (Fei), Kaban, Galahad (Silver) and Cameron (Kamille)]

You are hereby summoned to the Royal Palace of Elysa at behest of His Majesty. King Cai'a the First wishes to Personally Honor those whose actions lead to saving Muenier from a terrible fate. Take the seal as proof of invitation.

[Daisho would immediately know from the wording that this is more than a congratulatory meeting, while the Noble-borns would find it strange that such a ceremony would be done privately. At any rate, the date and time is the same on all the missives]

At the appointed time, the King rests upon his throne uneasily in the empty audience chamber, tail flicking behind him as he puts on a cool mask - there was only a single guard in, who was instructed to turn away anyone who did not possess the seal]

[OOC: It'll be a single log thread, no turn order is required]

[A summons from His Majesty? The circumstances are strange, but it's still an important opportunity. Nothing to be done but to arrive promptly and carry oneself with dignity and reverence.

Mercia arrives ahead of schedule, in full house colors. When it's time for her to present herself, she enters with poise, then kneels before the throne.]

On the behalf of House Tabrea, I offer my humble regards to His Majesty. May his reign be peaceful and prosperous.

[Daisho arrives pretty quickly as well. He simply walks into the palace and gives a tired wave.]

Hey.

[Roy somehow manages to avoid facepalming as he tromps into the familiar audience chamber. Call him a miracle worker.]

[Quite familiar with the protocol, he kneels before the throne in turn, bowing his head.]
The House of Greenhilt reports as ordered, Your Majesty.

Apologies for my tardiness, your highness.

[Cameron moved as fast as he could while still maintaining walking speed before he stopped in front of throne.] I hope I haven't missed anything.

In the interest of full disclosure, Your Majesty, I have already openly discussed the strange occurrences from the Muenier attack on the Liciae Linkshell. It may already be too late for me to keep them a secret.

[Wow, first meeting with the king and she already fucked up!]

Discussing the actual events is unavoidable. We put in a great deal of effort ensuring there would be witnesses left, after all. [And despite the horror of what had happened, they had saved a great number of people through swift and decisive action. Roy knows well enough to be grateful and even proud that they had, rather than bemoan that they couldn't save everybody.]

The enemy seemed to be some kind of constructs. They didn't speak or make any demands, they just surrounded the town and tried to systematically kill everyone in it.

They seemed to be impervious to all forms of attack at first. My arrows weren't able to hurt them until the... memory incident.

It was more than abject killing, though. They set fire to the vineyards, destroyed buildings, and were acting to ensure that nothing of the town survived.

My own tools proved useless against them, until I received this gun. [he presented the pistol, now quite well-polished thanks to the machinist's handiwork] It appeared as if from nowhere, along with instincts I never knew I had.

[Roy glances sidelong at the other two, then shook his head.]

With respect to my colleagues, Your Majesty, I must disagree. The attackers were not trying to kill. Given the weapons and resources they possessed, they easily could have caused far more casualties than we endured. I must conclude that their intention was to cause lingering pain and suffering, not immediate fatalities.
