The moment it snows, every cat turns into a purrito.

The second it starts snowing, cats enter full purrito mode. One look at the cold outside and they're already burrowing into the nearest blanket like they're preparing for hibernation. The goal is simple. Stay wrapped up, stay warm, and do not acknowledge the existence of snow.

Blankets get pulled into service immediately. You'll find them rolled up tight, tucked into throws, or wrapped in sweaters like tiny burritos that refuse to come undone. Only a nose or an ear might be visible. Everything else is safely hidden away from the cold.

They don't want to see the snow, and they definitely don't want the snow seeing them. Windows get a quick inspection from inside the blanket before they disappear again. Laundry piles become insulation. Hoodies left on chairs turn into emergency shelters.

Once they're fully wrapped, that's it. The purrito is sealed. Any attempt to unwrap them will be met with a slow blink and a deeper curl. Moving would mean facing the cold, and they've already decided against that.

For the rest of the day, it's just a series of tightly wrapped cats rotating between naps. Snow can do whatever it wants outside. Inside, it's warm, soft, and purrito season.

Cats are weird little creatures, and yet here are - adoring their every whiskery weirdo deed.

As we should. Cats are to be worshiped, as the kings and queens they are, who rule our lives with an iron paw. Even medieval emperors adored their cats, so who are we to dispute that? But that doesn't change the fact that cats, these beings we admire so, are fluffing weirdos. They will literally scream on blank walls, try to parkour on your ceiling at odd hours of the night, and insist on napping on your laptop right when you have an important meeting (and let's see you dare to move them).

But let's see if your cat, who's definitely weird in their own way, beats the complete coo-cooness of this one. He dips his cat toys in the toilet water. But wait, there's more! This is, most definitely, done in good faith. No, it's not that the cat thinks the toys are dirty - he gives them as moist gifts to his stunned human, delivering them right on her bed. Thoughtful. And you think she just accepts it? This human tried everything to stop this strange gift-giving from happening to no avail.

You have to see it to believe it. But what we always know, with seeing or not, is that cats are weird. So, so, so weird. But honestly? We wouldn't have them any other way.

We always say that cats rule our houses with an iron paw, but we don't actually think that they should be judges in a court.

Listen, we think that cats are amazing. We think that they are capable, smart, and should not be underestimated. They may look tiny and small, but inside those fluffy little heads of theirs lie thoughts of chaos and crime. All cats are criminals. And their crimes vary from stealing food off our plates right under our noses, with no regard for the consequences, and while maintaining eye contact with us the whole time, all the way to breaking into banks and sending the police on chases.

It may be an amusing thought- to imagine a cat sitting in the courtroom, on jury duty, deciding whether we are guilty of some crime or not, but in reality, we know that our cats would sell us out for a can of tuna and not even think about it. Of course, that is not the reason that this cat was removed from the jury duty that it was summoned for. Sal was removed because… well, Sal is a cat. And in the words of his owner, "When they ask him guilty or not guilty? What's he supposed to say - meow?"

A cat was not on the grocery list.

A regular trip to the grocery store turned into an unexpected kitten rescue when this little guy was spotted sleeping on the side of the road. He was dirty, hungry, and clearly had been out there for a while, but still sweet enough to let a stranger walk right up and pet him. After finishing the shopping run and sending a heads up to the family group chat, the mission became getting him home.

He was still there on the way back, although not without a bit of chaos. At one point there was crawling under a parked car involved after he got spooked and ran to hide. Eventually he was scooped up and brought inside, where he quickly settled in after some food and a wipe-down. A proper wash later on made a big difference, and he's already looking like a completely different cat. He's been spending most of his time loafing around or cuddling up with whoever's nearby.

It does look like his tail was cut at some point, which is upsetting to see, but thankfully he's safe now. He's met the other kittens and seems content to either hang out solo or find a human to nap next to. A home has already been lined up for him with someone who was planning to adopt another kitten, but this little guy's calmer personality makes him a better fit.

Cats are a truly unique bunch and we have captured some of their funnier behaviors and mistakes in this cute collection of silly cats being their authentic selves.

Often we try to instill our cats with a sense of hoomanity. Perhaps it is born off our desire for them to feel more like our actual children, or perhaps we hoomans simply cannot stand being around other species. But no matter what the reason the result is the same, and we end up dressing up our cats in costumes, putting them in hooman-like situations and melting on the spot the moment they decide to cuddle with us and the little spoon to our big spoon.

But we ought to remember that our cats are purrfect just as they are in their awwthentic selves and that their weird and wonderful antics are what make them the creatures we fell in love with in the first place.

The Cat Distribution System works in mysterious ways, and sometimes like in this story it takes going against the word of others to claim the cat that is destined to be yours.

At least that is what happened to one construction worker who found himself conflicted when a cat in the neighborhood of his worksite started showing him affection. Before long he noticed that this cat was showing all the behaviors of a stray, other than the fact that it kept frequenting one particular porch. And when the man finally saw a teenager go up to said porch he enquired as to whether the cat was indeed a feral feline or if he was their pet, to which the teenager claimed the cat was hers.

However, it is hard to claim ownership of a cat when they are left to live outside, fend for their own meals and patch up their own injuries. And so this man plucked up his courage and took the cat home to help it heal and serve it up a comforting meal. Resulting in one of the sweetest CDS rescues we have seen in a while.

Do you think cats know when their furever human comes along?

To say that humans are the ones who adopt their cats is quite a false statement, and cat owners would probably agree. Most of the time, the cat is the one who adopts the human, and they sure do not make it easy. We are pretty sure that cats have a very clear system they must follow before they allow themselves to get adopted, and no one knows what it is or how it works. All we know is that cats do everything to ensure that they end up in the right time and place to get themselves found by their forever humans, and they do not take that, or anything related to the cat distribution system, lightly.

How many people do you think a stray kitten sees pass through before they select the one they want to spend the rest of their lives with? How many people do you think the tiny 4-week-old kitten in the story below let walk past him before he decided to chase the person who would later become his loving pawrent?

We will never know the answer to these questions, but at least we know that whatever calculations go behind a cat's choice, and the workings of the cat distribution system, they must be working. Because cats find a home every single day, and the kitten below found the purrfect human to take care of him and welcome him to the family. Keep scrolling to read the full story.

Cats aren't kittens forever, but they'll always be your baby.

You never know when your baby kitten will awaken a full-blown cat teenager, but inevitably, they'll surprise you one last time with a drop in their meow and a head screwed on a little tighter than before. And it's on that day that you'll wish they were smol again, smol enough to cradle in your shirt pocket, and sleepy enough to curl up in the crook of your neck.

Your new manager works from home and sits on your keyboard.

Monday morning and your cat has been promoted to manager without consulting you. You sit down to start the week and they're already at the desk, planted on your keyboard like they have a full calendar of meetings. The laptop opens, they sit on it. The notebook comes out, they sit on that too. Oversight has begun.

Every email now has to go through them first. You try to type and they step on the keys like they're adding notes. You reach for the mouse and they rest a paw on your hand to let you know that was not approved. The staring is constant. Purrformance reviews will be based entirely on how much attention you're giving them.

You attempt to move them. They return immediately and sit down harder. You adjust your position. They adjust with you. Now they're loafed across your workspace, purring like they just wrapped up a long call. The tail is in the way, the trackpad is covered, and you are working at a speed that suggests morale is low.

At some point they curl up directly on your notes and fall asleep mid-shift. You weren't planning on taking a break, but management has made an executive decision. Monday purrductivity now depends on whether or not the boss wakes up.

It's a bird, it's a plane, it's a… miniature black tiger?

Unlike dogs, cats don't come in an alphabet of different breeds. Compared to the over 200+ dog breeds worldwide, the most any recognized feline organization acknowledges is 70 different cat breeds, but most households hold fewer than 10. You've got your puffy Persians, your tortoiseshell kitties with supreme tortittude, meowjestic Maine coons, hairless sphynx cats, your "standard issue cats" (tabbies), terrific tuxedo cats, and then you have your generic black cats and orange cats with one collective brain cell. Of course, there are others, but these are most likely the cats most people have.

However, the world of cats is much more than these select breeds. There are purrfectly rare and unique-looking cats all over the place, like the Lykoi, AKA the "werewolf cat", or the burnt orange abyssinian cats that look like they inspired pharaohs. Today, we have a cat that was found by a random passerby that, in all of our years as cat expurrts, we can't even begin to describe. It looks like a miniature black tiger, or a tabby with melanism.

Upon uploading this pawsitively beautiful kitty with a unique fur pattern, the cat community couldn't identify it either. Purrhaps it's a variation on a tabby, or maybe it is its own unique breed altogether, but we'll let you weigh in on it with your own opinions. Either way, it's one of the most beautiful cats we've ever seen, and if we had been the one to stumble across its path, you best believe we would have taken it home that same instant.

Everyone knows that cats are criminals, but it's still funny to see them caught in real time.

You only need to have a cat live in your home for a little while to know that cats commit crimes. All the time. Seriously. Adopting a cat spikes the crime rate in your house to levels that you never expected to see. Of course, it is worth it, but that doesn't make it any less funny. It could be small things, like cats stealing food off your plate if you look away for just one meowoment, or cats stealing dogs' beds without any shame. Or it could be cats breaking into apartments without any fear or cats stealing from supermarkets, with their main targets being the delicious snacks inside.

We think that this is what the cat in this story was most likely attempting to do. It must have thought that the bank was a grocery store or something, one with truly worthy snacks inside. That is why the kitty broke in. Of course, the cat wasn't expecting the door to close behind it, or the alarm to start blaring, or the panicked police officers to come running, trying to find the robber inside. What an adventure.

You weren't planning on getting more cats, but the house feels like it's missing one.

At some point, one cat just doesn't feel like enough. You look around and think, this place could use another small creature wandering through it at random. One cat is great, sure, but two cats feels like balance. Three starts to feel like a system. Suddenly you're noticing empty chairs, quiet corners, and realizing they could all be occupied by a cat who isn't there yet.

It's never really planned. You don't wake up thinking you need more cats. It just happens over time. One cat makes you laugh, another keeps them company, and before you know it you're thinking about how nice it would be for them to have a friend. Then maybe a second friend. The logic makes sense in the moment.

You start doing the math in your head. One more litter box wouldn't be that big of a deal. There's definitely space on the couch. The food situation can be adjusted. It's all very reasonable when you think about it long enough.

Next thing you know, you're explaining that they all have different personalities, so it's actually necessary. This one is shy, that one is social, the other one is in charge of yelling at nothing at 3 AM. You weren't planning on needing more cats, but now it's hard to imagine how you ever had enough before.

For years, Cubby was the junkyard cat everyone avoided until someone finally got close enough to see who he really was.

Cubby spent years outside as the neighborhood cat people liked to complain about. He wandered through the development, slept in a junkyard a few streets away, and built up a reputation for being mean or a nuisance. Neighbors would post about him online, but no one really stopped to help him. He was out there on his own, dealing with traffic, wildlife, and whatever else came his way. In 2023, a kind soul started putting food out for him and leaving shelter, slowly gaining his trust over time.

This winter, he made the move indoors for good. The cat everyone thought was aggressive turned out to be incredibly sweet once he felt safe. He still has a bit of attitude now and then, but he's also snuggly and affectionate in a way no one expected from a former semi-feral. Now he has soft beds, warm blankets, a water fountain, catnip toys, scratchers, and even a little sister to keep him company.

After being ignored for so long, he finally gets to live somewhere warm and comfortable. No more junkyard, no more sleeping outside. Just a quiet home where he's cared for every day and gets to enjoy all the small things he missed for so many years.

It usually goes hand in hand…

Internet culture is a vast, ever-changing web of shared language, humor, trends, and communities that exists largely online. It's the culture of a digital world where memes, tweets, viral videos, and hashtags are as influential as traditional media, shaping the way people communicate, express themselves, and even think. Unlike offline culture, it spreads at unprecedented speed; something funny, shocking, or clever can reach millions across continents in a matter of hours.

At its core, internet culture thrives on connection and participation. Forums, social media platforms, and comment sections allow people to interact in ways that were impossible a generation ago. Communities form around shared interests, from niche hobbies to global fandoms. People bond over inside jokes, obscure references, and recurring meme formats that evolve quickly — sometimes so fast that new generations of internet users barely recognize what came before. Participating in these spaces often requires understanding the subtle nuances of digital language, including irony, sarcasm, and layered humor. Cats are a particularly important part of the internet. It's actually crazy to think about how much they dominate culture today. Who knew that wide eyed, zoomie having furballs would be this popular? And what is it about them that makes us explode with entertainment?

Cats practically represent entertainment and the internet. They're in reels, videos, memes, and basically have us all in a choke hold. If you're someone who likes the internet, then it's likely you like cats. And if you're someone who likes cats, then it's likely you like the internet. And if you like neither, then what are you even doing here and reading this? Go do something else and leave us alone.

Thank goodness the story isn't as it appears, and the kitten isn't left to fend for itself in the end.

What happens between roommates could be the title of any newspaper. There always seems to be drama there, even when things seem fine. Like here, when a cat owner decides to go visit her boyfriend for a few days and leaves her roommate in charge of her new kitten. Leaving someone else to take care of a kitten is a bit daring, but that's not the point. The roommate agrees, and they have a tacit understanding. But on the day the owner is supposed to arrive home, the roommate decides to go see family and stay overnight for days. This now creates tension with the owner's change of plans to stay a few days longer with her boyfriend. Instead of understanding and taking responsibility, she accuses her roommate of being selfish. Read the full story for all the details.

There's no better meme than a cat meme.

We're serious, and we don't say it only because we're the internet's cat memes hub. We're the cat memes hub because cat memes are the best memes ever. Every meme is better with cats, because cats make everything better. Every meme, of whatever topic, is better because a cat is in it. It's already in a cat's nature to do the Fits & Sits, so they might as well do it with internet comedy - if they fit in the meme, they sits in the meme. And they always fit. It's just the laws of cats, we didn't invent them. But we sure are happy to live in a world that is run on cat laws. Because, again, cats make everything better.

This is one litter box we don't mind cleaning out!

Having cats isn't all sunshine and rainbows. It's being woken up by the sound of a lamp crashing to the floor at 2 AM, it's constantly sweeping up cat litter and yelling "Don't eat that trash!" from across the room. The worst part, though, is cleaning their litter box. It's the closest thing we have that connects us to dog people, and we don't understand how they do with their bare hands every day. But there is one litter box that we don't mind cleaning out, especially on the weekends, and that is the litter box of laughs.

This one doesn't smell at all, in fact, it has an adorable aroma of hissterical giggles and the finest feline funnies on this side of the internet. We've got memes, tweets, threads, and pics aplenty to keep your cat-centered brain engaged and feline pawsitive all weekend! We hope that pawsitivity will last all the way through Meownday, but we can only do so much. We may be self-proclaimed meme wizards, but that doesn't make us meowgicians.

But in all seriousness, we love ending our weekends with a wholesome scroll of some purely funny cats. It's a way for us to rest and reset before we start yet another work week. It's our little pocket of joy that helps us stay sane in this crazy world we live in. It's healthy to have something to help you escape, and cats seem like a pretty harmless one to us, all things considered. So enjoy these silly slides of funny felines and we wish you a purrfectly pawsitive end of your weekend!

Bonded pairs of cats should never be separated.

People who say that cats are solitary creatures who don't feel the need to bond with anyone don't even know how wrong they are. When cats bond with someone, they bond hard. It could be us that they bond with. Cats love their humans in ways that words could never express, but their actions show it. Or it could be cats bonding with other animals, specifically other cats. In fact, such bonds are common enough that the internet has given them a name: bonded pairs.

Bonded pairs of cats are something special. They are connected with one another on levels that we could probably never understand. But we see it - when they are together, they thrive, and when they are not, they are lethargic, sad and irritable. They need each other. And it is our duty to make sure that they stick together. Some shelters even go as far as to reject applications to adopt if the adopter is looking to separate one bonded kitty from another, even if it means that both cats stay in the shelter longer. Because it's better to be in the shelter together than anywhere else apart.
