[OPEN] Whoa I'm the king of the swingers, oooh
CHARACTERS: Monkey Jack (
jackbotsattack) and YOU!
DATE: February 21st (Week 15, day 2-3)
RATING: G probably
SUMMARY: Jungles aren't that scary when you have the skills and instincts of a monkey.
Despite the fact that there are all kinds of dangerous and scary things in the town right now, Jack isn't too worried about it. After all, thanks to the staff clutched in his tail, he's now a literal human monkey, with all the reflexes, senses, and instincts to go with it. It means he can swing through the trees with easy, smell predators coming, and eat tasty bugs out of his own fur!
(Did I mention that a side-effect of using the Monkey Staff too long is gradually losing your humanity to the monkey side?)
At least he seems to be having a good time, swinging through the trees with few cares in the world just this moment. When he sees a person, he drops down, staff in hand and swinging from a branch with his tail.
Sometimes it scares people, and he likes the reaction.
So what exactly do you do when a monkey boy suddenly drops out of the trees above you with a loud, "OOH AAH!", hmm?

Day 2
"Jack, what are you doing?"
no subject
He lets her scratch his fluff, though he makes a token expression of irritation at it.
"Checking the jungle out. It's a lot safer this way. What are you doing? ...Why is there blood on your trident!?"
no subject
"Oh, this?" She jams one end into the ground to better try and rub some of the remaining blood off with her fingers. "I killed a snake earlier. I still have some if you're hungry!"
no subject
Maybe if it's been cooked first. Barbecued or something. Mm, barbecue...
He shakes those thoughts away. "What are you doing out here, besides killing snakes?"

She doesn't think twice, already absolutely on edge because hello terrifying jungle and she's out here alone, and screams herself but also does manage to protect herself by throwing a fast punch before she realizes who she is looking at.
If it connects, Jack can consider himself lucky she doesn't have her Dad's power right now. Unfortunately for him, her fighting lessons with Barnaby and Ivan have definitely been helping her to actually learn how to fight and it's not just a girly punch anymore.
no subject
Jack jerks back after the punch, clamping his hands over his nose and lips. Tears spring to the corners of his eyes from the pain, though it starts to subside quickly. His nose is not broken, thank goodness, but his lip is split, and blood drips from it onto his face.
"Ooooh, you split my lip!" he moans. He pulls himself up onto the branch, rubbing the blood off with his furry arm.
"I should have known. Girls always react with punches first." Or maybe that's just Kimiko, Wuya, and Ashley- oh wait, that's all the girls he knows.
no subject
It's the first punch she's ever thrown in her whole life. Barnaby and Ivan can be proud now.
"What happened to you? You're... You're a monkey!!"
no subject
He drops down from the tree so he's in front of her, but while he's standing on two feet, he doesn't stand up to his full human height.
"It's my staff." He waves it around with his tail. "It's some ancient Chinese magic crap. Here, watch- Monkey Staff!"
And just like that, he transforms back into a full human, the staff held in his hand now. He frowns, reaching up to scratch at his hair, and a few bugs go flying out at the disturbance.

no subject
Still laughing, he swings back up onto the branch above, grinning down at the Doctor.
"You made that too easy, old man!"
no subject
"And what was the point of that, boy?!"
no subject
He smiles toothily. "Do I need any more of a point? You gotta find entertainment however you can around here."

Day 3
In short he was awake, trapped in his bed with a half beard that itched rather than looked dashing, hair that was in desperate need of a wash and he was feeling cranky. This, along with the heat was why he had his window open to at least allow some bit of breeze to move the air around and the noises outside were a break from the monotony of his own thoughts.
Certainly the last thing Charles expected was for a monkey/humanoid type creature to suddenly alight on his window sill. Arching his eyebrow, Charles set down the book he was
rereading and pushed himself up, awkwardly, with his one good arm. Pursing his lips in a perplexed expression, he tilted his head to the side and wondered aloud."Who the hell are you?"
no subject
He has to squint to see in, and that's when he sees Charles, hurt, he guesses, from the way he's laying in bed. He has to squeeze around a vine to get more into the room, then holds up a hand to show he means no harm.
"Hey, Chuck, it's me, Jack."
no subject
"Jack?" Brilliant rejoinder, give him a moment. "My god, what happened to you?"
It is surprising enough that he's not even going to comment on the use of 'Chuck'.
no subject
He wiggles the rest of the way into the room, careful not to hit the staff on the window frame. He lands with a very light thump on the floor of the bedroom, standing very much as a monkey does.
"It's some ancient Chinese magic." He starts scratching a patch of fur on his arm. "I use this staff," he pinches a bug between his fingers, "and I turn into a monkey."
He pops the bug in his mouth. He doesn't even realize he's doing it.

day 3
At this particular moment, Mikoto is more focused ahead of her than what's above, so when a loud something drops in loudly right in front of her face, she does the only logical thing: make an undignified yelp and stumble backwards, all while going for electrocuting whatever this thing was. It's all in self-defense, alright.
no subject
He really should have been expecting something like that. With an undignified yelp of his own, he goes tumbling out of the tree, and ends up a shocked and bruised pile of monkey-boy on the ground, groaning lightly. He smells slightly of burning fur.
no subject
Mikoto's backed up against another tree, clutching her chest and staring wide-eyed in surprise. A few deep breaths later, her eyes narrow when she notices the charred whateveritis is... a monkey? An odd looking one, but one nonetheless. They had those around here now?
"Ugh," she spits out in annoyance, glad to have that out of the way. "You deserved that."

Day 2
She's ready for the former, too, just in case her start doesn't scare this thing off, and... Wait. This is a monkey in clothes and goggles, which isn't normal monkey stuff.
"What is this? What are you doing?"
no subject
"I'm sorry, it was just a joke, don't hurt me!"
He cringes into the bark, squeezing his eyes shut like he's afraid to look.
no subject
She studies her surprise company briefly in her pause, and she frowns as she finally recognizes who he is.
"I thought you were supposed to be a boy genius."

day 3
She's trying to conserve her fuel, so after zipping up into the trees and finding a suitably large branch, she pretty much stays put. There's no need to move around all too much because that isn't the point -- she's not trying to explore, not trying to get away from something, not trying to pursue. She just wants to be by herself. The last few days have been trying and confusing besides, and though she's sure there are animals up here (she's pretty sure she saw some kind of giant bug zipping by when she made her way up here before...), she feels safer in the trees than on the ground.
She's also not sure if this boy really counts as an animal (he has a tail, but... uh...), so she's reserving judgment for the time being. What even, though. Wow.
"Stop it."
no subject
"It's a free country! Well, sort of. I'm not doing anything illegal here!"
He sticks out his tongue at her to prove his superiority.
no subject
But then he's sticking out his tongue and oh, okay. The moment has passed. Mikasa's expression goes back to her typical neutrality, eyelids lowering halfway. "You can do it somewhere else, then."
