[ Open ] Week 16
CHARACTERS: Gareki (
mechanizes) and OPEN
DATE: 03/04/14 (Week 16, 1-6)
RATING: PG
SUMMARY: Stealing train parts and then tender book reading.
Scenario 1 - Train Stop
[ With the wreckage in the train and people filing out -slowly-, Gareki's squeezing his way in to see what he can find out in terms of the technology. Fortunately, no one appears to have died that he's aware of, and the new people coming in might as well be blank faces to him at this point. He doesn't know who most of them are nor is he interested in getting to know them. There are plenty of healers and medics around anyway to deal with them, though there is something in the back of his head, nagging at him and reminding him of Tokitatsu's words before coming here.
He'd offered to him to become a combat physician in Circus's ranks, but Gareki hadn't really had time to digest it or even consider the repercussions. He'd been spirited away before he could even properly agree, and now, it feels like he might never ever reach the Second Ship again or see anyone he knew -not unless he starts to figure out how to travel out of this place and get back to his own world. This train is the only option he's left with at the moment, and he can't concern himself with anything else.
He tries to kick away any residual urge that he should be learning about patching people up and just focus. He doesn't have a lot of time right now. He needs to examine what he can of the train while it's here and see what he can figure out. It's unlikely they'll get it up and functioning again with a wreckage this huge, and if that's the case, he can at least use the parts from it and add it to his growing scrap collection. It's definitely an option for him, especially since he doesn't know enough about this crazy technology to repair it successfully nor does he think he'll have much time to find decent technicians. Well, maybe Kururu might be more familiar with it. He'll have to ask her if he sees her around.
For now, he's just snagging whoever he can nearby, reaching out to drag them over so they can help. He's got a sac right next to him that he's jamming things in -small things. Whatever he can pry off with his hammer and screwdriver, which would be more successful if he wasn't a fifteen year old boy with low upper body strength. ]
You, get over here-!
Scenario 2 - The Literate in the Undercity
[ Books. Books everywhere. Very little of it useful. Gareki was hoping to find something that could tell him more about this place and COMPASS, but he's yet to find anything even remotely titled COMPASS'S Big Book of Secrets or A Guide to Nefarious Plotting: COMPASS Style. Okay, so that might have been a little too obvious, but the other options are books on horticulture and aquatics. Why don't they stock up on anything more useful here?
He's not a big fan of fiction, either, but he's hoping even those books have some mention of their current captors. Unfortunately, it's too much to ask for, and he's finding books that should be used to make fires instead of read -which is an option. So much for thinking he hit some kind of hidden gold mine here.
His hands finally land on a book about bugs, which might be sort of useful. Might as well learn about the ecology, considering what kind of weird poisonous creatures popped out from nowhere last week. There was also that weird fish with the human eyes that that girl had shown on the network not too long ago.
Of course, right on page one is a spider, which he thinks is just a drawing until it moves. He has just enough self-control not to jump or screech, but the book ends up being slammed shut as hard as possible, dust blowing into his face and making him cough wildly. ]
...Damn it...when was the last time someone cleaned this place?

Scenario 2 - The Literate in the Undercity
[ Books. Books everywhere. Very little of it useful. ...Damn it...when was the last time someone cleaned this place?

SCENE 2
No one has told her about being the pocket-watch's power source. She hasn't used the thing in a while, but… it's best to keep it on her when accidents can happen before anyone knows they will.
Anyway, there she is, the girl who crawled out of the grave two weeks ago, actually in worse shape now than she had been back then. ]
Uuu…
[ she keeps walking forward semi-blindly as she presses her knuckles into her eyes to get out whatever's in them, even if doing so with dirty hands is less helpful… but once she manages to look up, she is arrested by the sight of so many books. the tiredness forgotten, lily croaks out a laugh and skips into an aisle, fingers hovering over all the covers. she just might've found her new hiding place—only, she doesn't realize she's not alone yet. ]
no subject
Still, it doesn't get any less disturbing over time, and Gareki is only spared the embarrassment of looking so shocked by quickly hiding his face in the book in his hand.
The book with the dead spider. ]
Shit-!
[ He drops the book and scowls before wiping his face free of spider guts. This really isn't his day, and he's already wondering what other weird person is going to show up after this. ]
...What the hell are you doing here? And when's the last time you had a bath?
[ Probably since way before she arrived here......... ]
no subject
[ she frowns and glares and hopes she makes a point!! but who's she kidding. it's gareki. in any case, she clutches one arm as she answer him, defiant under the dirt. ]
A few days ago! …I think! What about you? You have something on your nose.
[ thought you got all the spider off your face, didn't you. ]
no subject
[ ...what does he have on his face? He'd thought he'd seen a lot of nasty things sleeping in alleys and all, but it's still gross to have bug innards all over his skin. He quickly wipes it all off with his sleeve while resisting the urge to grimace. Maybe he's overdo for a bath himself. ]
-that's beside the point! Don't tell me you're just wandering out here on your own smelling like that. Did you find anyone from your world?
[ Again, it's those Nai eyes that soften him up. They're just so big and dumb-looking. He can't help feel like she needs some kind of babysitter of sorts, which shouldn't be him, of course. Someone who's nurturing and crap. ]
no subject
[ -ne. but. he's being mean again. :'( she suddenly seems distressed. or depressed. but definitely taking taking every criticism to heart. ]
Do… do I really smell that bad?
[ maybe she should go back to the residence hall, but… truth is, she's been lost. ]
I'm sorry… and not anyone besides Nill, but she's been here since Lily—I mean, since I've been here…
no subject
[ How could she be that unaware of the stench? Does she think because she's a girl that she's immune? He can smell her from several feet away ...but he can also tell she's had a rough time what with dying all supposedly. He also gave her a hard time about not being able to read or type properly, though it's still baffling that Nai has more capabilities when he's not even human.
He sighs before glancing away awkwardly. ]
I've smelled worse, though. Did you come here because I told you to?
[ Or is this just a coincidence? He'd like to think she'd listen to his good advice and educate herself, but he's sure it's the latter. ]
There are some easy books around here. You read my texts well enough, so it shouldn't be hard to get through them.
[ Bugs might be a bit too difficult of a topic, though... maybe something more light-hearted and for kids. Didn't he see something around with a talking dinosaur? ]
option 2
Maybe he should say something in return? ]
It's likely been a while. COMPASS don't seem too worried about the upkeep of this town in general.
no subject
Plus, the question had been rhetorical. Mostly. He'd already had a feeling that COMPASS doesn't seem to care about general hygiene, considering the dump they stuffed them all into, but he's lived on the streets long enough that this place isn't that horribly unmanageable.
Man-eating spiders aside.
Gareki finally turns to glance at the guy addressing him before blinking. ]
Yeah, I figured. Who the hell are you, old geezer?
[ And more importantly, what the hell is growing out of his head? ]
no subject
[ While he takes a minute to have a good look around, it does indeed seem as though the two of them are the only ones still left in here. Which means that there is no one else this young upstart could possibly be turning to, and Kondou's expression turns to one of dismay as he realises this. ]
Did you just call me old?
[ Clearly he has the most important priorities, here. ]
no subject
[ Wow, this guy is pretty slow. He's starting to wonder if there is anything at all beneath that hair except the tears of his abused scalp. Well, at least old guys tend to have misplaced trust in young people. Too bad he probably has nothing Gareki can use at the moment unless he happens to know something about these books. ]
Anyway, I was hoping to find some books about Zelien or COMPASS, but they haven't been mentioned at all. Is that what you're here for, or did you walk one shelf too far from the dirty pervert section?
[ He kind of has that weird look about him. Gareki wouldn't put it past him to be into that sort of thing. ]
no subject
[ What kind of guy is he if he gets off on calling someone else that? Kondou is rather put off by his description, and he wrinkles his nose as he tries to consider just why it is that he should help this man at all. How rude. ]
I'm here to find out more information too. But if you're looking for those kinds of books, you won't find them. None exist.
no subject
[ He grabs the book before holding it out to guy. It's a book on trendy hairstyles. He can't say they're necessarily that much better that what this guy has now, but it's a gradual improvement. Seriously, what is that thing on his head? ]
Read it thoroughly, old man. Maybe you'll look less like a pervert if you fix yourself up.
[ Skulking around in book shops isn't helping, either, but hey, Gareki's trying to fix one thing at a time here. ]
At least, they have some other books handy even if they don't want to spill anything about Zelien.
no subject
Do you go around telling everyone how they should change their appearance?
[ Or is it just Kondou's lucky day? ]
no subject
[ Mostly by Gareki. A lot. He probably shouldn't be so rude to someone who was trying to be helpful, but he can't help it. He also thought the guy was kind of nosy, especially while skulking around the shelves like he was up to something. This is just his own way of getting him to spill more about himself rather than just ignoring him completely, which is pretty hard being that he was skulking and all.
Of course, he's naturally paranoid about that sort of thing. After everything tried to kill him last week, he's not taking his chances. ]
Who are you anyway?
no subject
[ What's the word he's looking for. ]
Abrasive. I am here to assist you, more than anything else.
[ Well, okay. That's not exactly why he's suddenly appeared in the bookstore, but he's willing to help him with whatever information he knows. Surely that's a start of some kind...? ]
no subject
[ And if not for the spider, he probably would have had a more violent reaction to him being there other than mild surprise. Not to mention his only means of defense here are a bunch of power tools at the moment and what few fighting moves he managed to pick up from the streets and from his short time at Kuronomei.
Truthfully, if he were sneaked up on, he might have been outmatched completely by someone of his size, something that is more troubling than comforting at the moment. ]
It's creepy. You're just lucky I didn't pull something out on you.
[ Most likely a hammer, but he can let this guy think he has something worse. It's not like he'd know any better. ]
Those who aren't cautious here will probably end up dead the quickest.
Scene 1
What?
no subject
[ He's got part of the hammer wedged inside one of the panels and just needs extra muscle, though he has no idea who this guy is except a goofy-looking guy with white hair apparently... also terribly dressed, but Gareki's sort of used to that already from looking around. All that matters to him at the moment is that he's dumb enough or naively generous enough to help him pry loose pieces. Also, he's the person closest to him, and he's not too picky at the moment -as long as he's not from COMPASS or here to kill anyone, which doesn't appear to be the case given that kind of clueless response. ]
You want to know what's underneath all this, don't you? Well, it's not going to come off on its own.
[ And who would leave a young teenage boy to do all the work? What shame! ]
no subject
[After all, he was slim and frail...and yet it was a pleasant deviation from those that assumed him frail.]
no subject
Why did you come here if you don't plan on helping? Were you aiming to supervise? I know what I'm doing.
[ Namely, stealing things from a train. It's serious work! Hence, why he needs the extra muscle or what little muscle this guy has. Really, any other pair of hands would do at this point. ]
I need you to start pulling at the train. If not, then get lost.
Scene 2 - Day 4 | August 6th
But that's why he's here, searching around as much as he can in the bookstore though to be fair, there isn't much to scrounge through. All of this is utter garbage and strange enough and it's bad enough that the hum in the air that's been prodding at his hearing is getting him all ways of annoyed. As a particularly sharp hum resounds, he clutches the side of his head, the book he was reading- Sights through the Walls - A collection of hidden passageways dropping through the ground, but the sudden coughing he hears makes him blink up as he notices a very familiar shape.
Well, he's been exploring with him before, so why not? ]
Books do feed the brain, but these ones aren't for eating, Blümchen.
[ He smirks, even if the sounds are still driving him crazy and he sighs as he picks up the book he dropped. ]
Find anything useful about what we discovered the other day?
[ He might have had better luck than him. He is the mechanic here. ]
no subject
[ Maybe he should find a language book so he can finally figure out what this guy is calling him. He said he spoke German or something, and it's not like Gareki doesn't have time to kill. Plenty of time. Why not learn a new language in between trying to escape and building questionable things in his room?
He grabs the book from Klavier's hand before stuffing it back in. He'd been more irritable this week because he hadn't been able to exactly figure out those trains or how they work. He still feels pretty lost about that, and Kururu went missing again. It doesn't help that his roommate is an idiot and how the hell does he look thirteen ?!? His eyes narrow at the book case in front of him, for once wondering how long he's going to remain here and when is he going to go back.
What will even be waiting for him when he gets back? ]
COMPASS hasn't been stocking up on books about their agenda. The best we have are useless facts about the terrain and how to cook bugs in the wilderness.
[ He absently glances from title after title before his fingers still on one. It's something about sutures, and he looks thoughtful for a moment. ]
...Did you always know you were going to be a rock star musician or whatever you call it in your world?
no subject
Funny the things you start to appreciate when you're ripped out of your own normalcy.
As for the things that seem to be normal here that people seem to take a lot better than he does... well. He can hide his own upset better, especially after that night they spent together, but Kururu was someone who made him feel welcome compared to the others he's been running into. Not to run any of them down, he appreciates the concern and care, but this is completely out of his element- back home, he knew what to do, he knew his world and he knew how to handle it, but here, not only is he made aware of that, he's also made to feel bad about not being aware sooner. Out of reasons no one else can control, but being a perfectionist has its disadvantages too.
Though at least, this is normal in its own way, even if Gareki has a way of going off into his own world that he's never actually seen on others. He'd been at the train himself and while he was exploring with Gareki, there was nothing he could make out about the technology that matched any of his knowledge. And he does need to have some knowledge even if he's a novice at prosecuting, for the kinds of evidence they get. But he turns his head as Gareki starts looking through the books again, and his own gaze lands on a book about Instruments of the Classical Era to Modern Magic... huh. Maybe he'll read that one later. His question is heard, though he takes a moment to consider it. ]
If I had to be. [ He lifts the book out to glance at it, before setting it back and starting to look through the rest. ] I've always been good at it, so it'd kind of be expected, ja?
[ His gaze lands on another book- Gears and Knick-Knacks - Know-Hows for the In-The-Knows... funny, before he sweeps past that entirely, instead circling around behind Gareki to glance at his row. With his smaller body in front of him, he's a bit walled in, but a little closeness never killed anyone. Either way, he's looking at something above his head.
Through the lens - Photography of the Obscure- and he reaches for it, before he picks it out and adds- ]
But even then, there was something I was looking for and didn't know I'd found until I heard that tune.
[ He steps back to Gareki's side, a small, nostalgic smile on his face. ]
People wouldn't have expected me to be anything put a musician and a prodigy at my age [ It's not boasting, he's just stating the facts ]
But someone else believed I was capable of more. Someone who inspired me to take my education to the next level... and really put my heart into something I love. Guess you never know what you're good at until it really hits you, ja?
[ He smiles over at him, then. ]
Why do you ask?
no subject
Maybe there is a lot more to him than meets the eye or maybe Gareki's just not giving him enough credit here. Why does it even matter? This guy can read whatever he wants. It's not really any of his business what his favorite subjects are, and it won't aid himself in his own survival. Really, he'd just been thinking about his own path and whether or not he'll return home.
It's not entirely impossible, but he doesn't want to remain as he is forever. Tokitatsu had offered him something new that he didn't want to throw away necessarily. There's an opportunity to challenge himself and be more than just a regular Circus combatant, and he doesn't want to be weak and useless forever. ]
...No reason. I was just thinking about something, but it won't matter if I don't go back.
[ Though, if there are people who need help here, maybe he should do something about it. Unfortunately, he doesn't know the first thing about medicine, but that's what books are for, right?
His fingers linger on the titles before finally pulling one out. ]
I still don't think you're as much of a genius as you say you are. Not if you still think fighting with a nail file is a good idea. But depending on how long we're here, we can't stay in one place forever.
no subject
Though at Gareki's words, he chuckles. ]
Genius isn't measured in how much a person says they are one, but in how much they do. I can't say I'm much of a prodigy here, but it's best not to focus on what you can't do and do what you can.
[ His reply comes simply, before he shakes his head at Gareki. ]
Don't diss the unexpected. Have you ever heard of the concept of "turnabout"?
[ While he actually doesn't like using a method a known criminal did- he can at least appreciate the way it worked in his favor.
Namely, making a very useless (but precious!) nail file into something useful. ]
It's turning something around and making it useful for something you wouldn't expect it to be for. Like the nail file- that goes for other things, too. You just have to think outside the box and make things useful for when you need them.
[ He smiles, looking over his shoulder at him as he opens up the book. ]
Much like whatever you're thinking of doing right now, ja? Trying to turn something around for yourself, whether or not you return.
[ It's a general statement, which could apply to many things- and he has noticed Gareki the little engineer poking around books he wouldn't expect him to be reading as well. It's certainly interesting to see, and he always has curiosity where it comes to someone so intriguing. ]
no subject
[ Maybe a mind like his does crave a challenge. To do something familiar would be too easy, and he's seen enough suffering to know that he could put his efforts to use in other places. He doesn't want to keep falling behind and letting himself lose sight of things. He wants to be a part of Circus one day and to be useful. If he could make himself strong enough to work next to the combatants, it'd all be worth it.
...Just for a place to return to.
'Welcome home.'
It sounded foreign to his mouth when he first said it, but he's starting to wonder if he'll be here long enough to forget those familiar faces. Nai, Yogi, Tsukumo... even Shitty Four-Eyes. ]
Maybe you're not entirely full of stupid ideas. Just 99% full of them.
[ He pulls a book out before finding a spot to plop down on so he can get back to reading. There isn't much else to do at the moment, and he's not in a rush to return to the dorms anytime soon. ]
Are you just going to stand there and stare? The shop's big enough that you don't have to squeeze yourself around in this small place. Go sit on the other side and do your own research.
[ He was the one giving off that spiel about feeding his brain, and Gareki doesn't need him nosing around any further on his own reading material. ]
no subject
[ Because really, while he appreciates the guy's impulse for protecting people, it's his lack of worrying about himself that concerns him. He smirks in his direction at that though, before he grabs his own book and adds it to the rest of his pile- mostly books on observations, plant life and rare beasts- and photography, before he sets the pile down in front of them and plops down right next to him. ]
Don't mind if I do, then. This place here seems comfortable enough.
[ There's a grin on his face as he opens up the book on hidden passageways that he reached out to grab, before sitting shoulder to shoulder with him. To his credit, he doesn't look over at what Gareki is reading nor does he comment on it if he has-
He's just content being near someone close to his age. In some ways, he reminds him of Daryan- and that is a level of homesickness he has tried to completely avoid since he got here.
There's no point in thinking of them when they don't even know they're being missed. ]
It's a good thing, though. To know more than what you do. Think that little 1% will get you there, Blumchen. Just don't force it and you'll be fine.
[ He leans back before holding the book up. ]
Pity you're not on my world. You'd have some fun with the stuff we have. I'm looking for a good forensics investigator on my side as well.
no subject
Unlike Klavier, he is curious enough to tip up the guy's book of choice to curiously check out what he's reading. It's nothing terribly exciting, so he doesn't give much comment to it. Instead, he grabs his own book, tugging it close to try and study as much as he can with this guy literally breathing down his neck. ]
Aren't those the people who cut up dead bodies and perform autopsies to find out who or what killed them?
[ He wouldn't be opposed to doing that, but there are no dead bodies in this place... it's be a useless job to have without any available corpses to work on, and he doesn't want to touch anyone if they'll just be reanimated in a while. ]
Either way, there is no guarantee we would have met or that you would have even talked to me even if we were from the same world. Weren't you some kind of celebrity in your world?
[ Gareki is more the kind of guy who hangs around government officials ...who just happen to be performers.
Okay, Klavier technically fits into that category, but still! It was only because of Nai that he got wrapped up with Circus anyway. If he hadn't run into the brat that day, he'd still be picking pockets in Karasuna. ]
no subject
Ja, exactly that. We have some good investigators back home, so it's something that's really valued. And you're forgetting that I'm still technically "high school" age- you think I wouldn't want to hang around other guys in my off time?
[ Celebrity or not, having personal time is important. ]
Of course, you'd definitely have an edge if you were in law enforcement too, but it's not necessary... you just have to have the talent. Which I've seen you possess on more than one occasion, ja? And I doubt you'd want to show yourself as a fan, so...
[ He chuckles, then. ]
I think we'd be destined to meet somehow, you know. Maybe I'd be making sure your defense attorney got you off the hook for the right reasons in court, maybe we'd take the same bus... maybe you'd join the same classes. Who knows. All I know is- [ He reaches out, pressing a hand on Gareki's head and ruffling his hair playfully ]
We've met now and you're always trying to kick my ass in training- I think that's good enough for now until we can do more together, ja? Now how about we actually get this info in our heads. Never know when it might come in handy!
[ He'll never say no to studying- even if it's about trap doors. ]
Though yours looks like it'll come in handier than most.
[ So yes. He's seen it. ]
Maybe you can patch me up instead of that angry girl after training, ja?
no subject
He thought the same thing about Circus at some point... he still does sometimes, but then, they always manage to find some way to keep him. His and Nai's brief meeting had opened so many doors, and now, he's starting to feel like he maybe could have had a place to return to. But that moment was brief. Too brief.
He'd woken up here before he could really get anywhere again, and the frustration has lingered this time. He's no stronger than he used to be and finds himself constantly relying on others. Even worse, he never imagined he'd think about that brat and the idiot so often, but Klavier's pushiness always reminds him of Yogi -only a more subdued and mature version of him.
He knocks his hand away, giving him an annoyed look. ]
You sure you wouldn't rather have a girl putting her hands all over you? I would just make it hurt.
[ And he'd make Klavier wish he never got injured in the first place. What sort of doctor did Tokitatsu expect him to be? He's not exactly the most generous and selfless of guys here, but maybe that's why he wants him to push himself so much. ]
But I want to do more than I am right now. I can't do anything if I can't fight and if I can't put people back together. Make fun all you want, but I know you're not happy here, either. Do you want to spend all your time just running?
[ Or attempting to help when he's really just creating more problems for those who have to bail him out and save him in the end? ]
If I'm wrong, then why are you bothering with training at all?
no subject
He chuckles at his question though. ]
With hands like those, who needs enemies? [ She did nearly kill him- or well, terrified him enough that he was sure he left his bravado in another pair of pants by the end of it. At least Gareki he can fluster and manage- somewhat. The guy's still a bit of a brat, in the most affectionate way, and seems to think he knows everything about the world. Which he might, but at the same time- he thought the same at his age and he definitely didn't know what he does now.
However, it's the next part that makes Klavier reach out and flick his nose to the side to get Gareki's attention. ]
First, you need to stop making up ideas about what other people think when they aren't thinking of doing them. Do you hear me mocking you? And second- I don't intend to run. I intend to protect.
[ Self-preservation, only extended to others, too. Preserving them is protecting them for another day. ]
I'm training because I don't want to be useless if I have to fight. If anything, I can give someone a head start to escape- and possibly myself. Won't be any good if I'm dead, ja? Don't know for certain if someone I care for will be looked after the way I'd want to look after them.
[ And that is quite a serious thought he's considered. He lifts his book back up. ]
And who says I'm not happy? I've learned about so many different people and worlds in the time I've been here. It's pretty awesome, ja? With all the bad comes all the good, and I like to focus on the better.
[ With a smile, he glances over at him. ]
Whoever inspired you to think outside the box must be part of something dear to you. It's not often I see you putting your heart into something unless it's punching out your feelings. What caused you to want to deviate from what you were doing, anyway?
[ The desire to be more than a mechanic, that is. ]

[ Not that that really gives him any comfort. He's not eager to experience the pain of death or see what passes for 'hell' in this place. If the day to day things are already bad, he can only imagine how much shittier they are in the afterlife. Besides, what if they take away his hands or something. How is he going to get by without them? Like hell is he going to have someone take care of him the entire time.
He gives him an uncomfortable look as he closes the book, seeing that he's not going to get much reading done -not with Klavier constantly pestering him. He should just take a few things back with him to the dorms to read. He'd have better luck getting peace and quiet there. ]
And that's none of your business. Maybe I just feel like picking up new things while I'm on my own here. Who knows when it'll come in handy?
[ It might do him some good to learn how to put people back together, especially with how often they get to hurt. If he can learn to put together a bomb from reading alone, he's sure he can pick up medical things, too. They have enough books on the subject that he can carry with him. ]
If you're set on volunteering to be my test subject, then I'll have to knock you out, first.
[ He grins and cracks his knuckles with his other hand while shifting to face Klavier. His gaze remains pointedly at him, moving uncomfortably close. ]
I have to get that real cadaver experience from you, so it's the only way you won't move around while I work on you.

[ He looks amused, watching Gareki with a fond look as he listens to him talk. It's always easy to push him into saying more than he actually thinks he shouldn't say and when he gets that upper hand- all he likes doing is savoring it.
Of course, he's a tough little nut to crack, but who ever said that was a bad thing? Though his next words make him pretend-fearful, even if with Gareki, who ever knows when he's actually serious? He isn't serious, right...
Oh, boy. That gets a nervous little laugh out of him, and he places his hands on the ground to carefully lean back but not enough to get out of the way. ]
As much as I like helping people out, being a corpse isn't a part of that. So, no thank you, starry-eyes.
[ He lifts a hand then and pinches Gareki's nose playfully, holding him like that before letting go and slipping his fingers under Gareki's chin. His own face moves dangerously close, lips just a breath away from his as he looks into his eyes. ]
But if you want to get your hands all over my body, I won't complain about a nicer setting, ja? I prefer a dinner and a date before it, though.
[ And, before he can do anything else, he grins and shifts back before snatching Gareki's book and holding it out of the way. ]
And you have to tell me who this other person is before that, or I might just get jealous of my cute Blumchen liking someone else's opinions more than mine!
[ Oh, he's going to get it, isn't he? But he can't help it. Gareki is cute when he's not trying to be a terrifying little shit, and he always does love seeing a pretty face break into a blush!
Though an angry fluster is more likely but what the heck... ]

His hand moves to Klavier's chest to increase the separation between them while standing up quickly. His face is a little hot, but he blames that more on his internal urge to punch Klavier's teeth off erupting beneath his skin than anything. ]
Stop being gross. This is a public place, dumbass. And I prefer plenty of people's opinions over yours. Unlike you, they actually know what they're talking about.
[ Is he seriously defending a guy who was pretending to be a tree...? Okay, admittedly he doesn't 100% trust Tokitatsu, either, but it's not like he has many choices? It's either see where things go or continue down the same lonely path he's always taken. If he's honest with himself, he really doesn't want to be aimless for the rest of his life and to watch people around him die without doing nothing about it.
He grabs a few books from the ground before cradling them against his chest and making a quick escape before he ends up saying more than he wants to this guy. The less he knows, the better. The less anyone knows here, the safer he'll feel. He doesn't want to give them all a weakness to target. ]
I'm heading back. I'll have better luck reading in my room than sticking around here, especially if all you're going to do is annoy me every time I get through a sentence.
[ There is still sweat beneath his fingers, and his heart won't stop, which is not something he wants to allow escalate. ]

But, he grins as he lifts up the book he snatched from him and dangles it in front of him. ]
Looks like you weren't all that serious about studying all this, then, were you? And I happen to know what I'm talking about. Maybe a certain Blumchen doesn't know what I mean, yet.
[ He winks at him, holding the book out. ]
Pick you up when you're done? Got some snacks you might prefer over the nightmare corn, ja? Dress nicely, now!

That would be the perfect time. ]
I wouldn't actually mind that. Come by room in an hour, too, and bring some food with you.
[ The perfect trap.
He's grinning in his head as he starts to pile the books in his arms, thinking he can definitely set things up by then. He already has a vision in his mind of what he wants to build. ]
I'll be waiting.
