009 忍 Birds of a feather flock together (semi-open)
CHARACTERS: Ivan Karelin (
sponsorigami) and other people staying/visiting the Hero TV classroom
DATE: March 9 (Week 16, Days 4-5)
RATING: PG
SUMMARY: Group party type sleepover-cuddle pile log.
[ The Hero TV classroom has been completely cleared of vines by the efforts of more than one person. Uplifted floorboards have been pressed back down. A couple of mattresses and blankets have been brought in to make a wide sleeping area. There's Origami Cyclone's suit off to the side. The suit and weapons are in need of some attention after the long period of disuse thanks to the rift. Barnaby's hero suit is also in the classroom, likely in a better condition. A few tables and chairs are pushed against the walls, and there would have been origami spilling over the surfaces if Ivan still had his sight.
For a place that used to be so empty (and kept that way for sparring reasons), it's looking more and more like a residential place, which is fitting as the classroom has gained a number of new dwellers.
After recent events, they can all use the company of each other and then some, to know that they aren't in this alone. ]
[[ OOC: Party style tagging. Leave a top comment and also tag around to others. You don't have to be staying in this room either. Visitors are perfectly a okay. ]]

Ivan
It's highly recommended that people call out to him, or else he really will have trouble figuring out who's nearby. ]

Son?
[ For the moment he'll just stand by the door first, and try to get his attention however he can. ]
no subject
[ His voice is much clearer this time around, and Ivan doesn't have to strain to know that he's around. Ivan doesn't bother looking around for him. Kondou will walk over to him like he had that night. ]
Hello. I... hope I didn't miss a message from you. I'm trying to remember to check the watch even if I'm like this.
no subject
[ That is likely going to be confusing to Ivan, but Kondou is prepared to explain it to him. First, however, he has to admit that there's something he wants to ask of his son first. ]
May I ask something of you?
no subject
He hangs his head. ]
I, I didn't mean to make you feel bad. I... was emotional...
no subject
[ Perhaps he shouldn't have brought it up, but since the topic has been broached, Kondou figures that he may as well press on ahead. Even if he feels absolutely awful for doing so now, there's not really a dignified way to turn back. ]
Do you really see me as your father?

[ Not that Barnaby is going to lean over and try to read what he's writing without permission, but he's close by just in case Ivan does need a hand with anything. During the times when he is present in the classroom, he tries to stay close so that it won't take much if there's something he's needed for. Currently he's focusing on cleaning his armour, given that there's not a whole lot else for him to do. ]
no subject
[ He writes a fourth line over the previous ones. If he was trying to keep his writing about the BETA period a secret from COMPASS and everyone else, he's doing a very good job of it. Hardly any words are recognizable for what they are. ]
I can't tell if I'm wasting my time with this.
no subject
[ Little does Barnaby know that he'll actually be completely useless in assisting Ivan with this venture, but it's the thought that counts... or something like that. Besides which, he's looking like he's having a considerable amount of trouble with that. ]
no subject
[ It really looks like a third of a page of scribbles. If Barnaby looks closely, he might be able to make out an "A" ... or is that an "O"? "D"?
Even being the author, Ivan won't be able to read it. Perhaps he should take the paper away from him. ]
no subject
[ That seems like the most sensible option, doesn't it? Especially since, as Barnaby looks over... he can't make sense of what he's trying to write at all.
It seems as though this may just end up being a waste of time, at least right now. ]

nill!
she arrives by the door and pokes her head in like she usually does, knocking on the door twice to let people know she's arrived. she's also hoping she can stay here for the night, maybe. or at least for as long as she's allowed. the rain blood scare from earlier today sucked. ]
no subject
Once he catches her attention, he motions her over to come and sit with him, if she wants to. Hopefully he can find a decent way to keep her well entertained while she's here... ]
no subject
she scurries over to place herself by his side, happy and eager as always, head tilting to ask how he is. he looks well, either way, and she's glad for that. ]
no subject
Are you well, Nill?
[ How are you today? ]
no subject
she nods her head—well, it's not a lie, she's doing okay after she's showered and all. did barnaby even know about what happened outside?
but that's okay if he doesn't. nill is more interested in knowing if he's okay, too! ]
no subject
(And she does look very cute in that dress. Barnaby thinks that it suits her.) ]
I've been doing alright. Everything feels rather quiet at the moment, doesn't it?

she claps her hands, a method they'd both agreed with. it should be fine to approach even closer now, right? ]

[ This system works out great. A warm smile appears on his face, and he turns over his hand to give her access to his palm in case she wants to talk to him. It tickles when she does, but now he understands what's going on and won't get startled. ]
How are you doing?
no subject
the grammar is a little off but writing everything down would take too long, and is pretty much impractical. ... ivan knows what she means by it, anyway. ]
no subject
[ He still feels bad for how he acted last week, but luckily there are on better ground this time. Ivan doesn't mind the grammatically incorrect. She could be using chat speak for all he cares.
... Maybe he could introduce some to make her writing quicker and easier for her? ]
I'm doing better. I think I'm finally starting to adjust to being like this.

He knocks to let people know he's coming in, before sticking himself into the room with an All-American call-out. ]
Dude, anyone in here?
no subject
[ That is to say, with a hint of amusement: hello, Barnaby is here again. When isn't he, these days? It's probably not such a good thing, in some ways, but he manages to keep himself busy. Like with cleaning his suit, which he's fairly sure doesn't need it at this point, but who's counting? It keeps him busy, distracted, and that's all he needs at the moment.
Though for the time being he has stopped so that he can acknowledge Raleigh's presence, and there's a warm smile on his face when he does so. ]
no subject
I'm still here. Are you looking for Bandai?
[ Sometimes Ivan finds himself thinking of "Bandai" as Barnaby's hero name ever since he was introduced to the Rangers calling him that.
He still finds it oddly cute. ]
