If you live in Massachusetts' Fourth Congressional District, you might be able to do a very cool piece of political activism! Because of a piece of political serendipity, you may be in a position to save the homes of low income New Orleans' Hurricane Katrina refugees and enable them to come back to the city. I know, it's such a weird thing, but we've all wanted to do something for the folks displaced by Hurricane Katrina--and now we can!

If you want to know more, take a look at this page: MA Residents Can Help Save Public Housing in New Orleans.

Ah okay, thanks. *g* I think I totally fail whatever citizenship-ness, gov&politics sort of test that they'd give to high schoolers or whatever. I should know this sort of thing. :)

Those classes are terrible. They are so boring and stupid. On my darkest, most paranoid days I suspect this is intentional. Even in my absolutely fantastic, funded to the teeth suburban high school, the worst, ickiest teacher was assigned to teach the state-required civics class. Oh, he was a creep and a cretin.

I have the same feelings about how schools typically handle US history though.

Well, yes, they are terrible. But that doesn't mean I shouldn't know who my representatives are. :)
