Okay, did you hear about this? Apparently the Cartoon Network was promoting a CARTOON by putting these weird devices that looked like bombs all around Boston. Under bridges, for example? They promoted a cartoon by putting glowing devices under bridges?

I was so busy at work that I had no idea that the whole city shut down. I beg you to remember that the planes that flew into the World Trade Center on 9/11/01 flew out of Boston.

I beg you to remember that we get reminded of the security alerts, can't take nail clippers or bottles of water on airplanes.

So whose idea was THIS? Eh?

The level of sheer stupidity in this country is astounding.

The person whose idea this was is most likely a descendant of the person who made it necessary for hair dryers to carry a warning not to use them in the tub or shower.

That's about as smart as the eedjut who sent a ticking box to a hotel full of delegates (and Trek-con attendees *g/*) for the GOP National Convention, causing hotel evacuation and quite a to-do.

Turns out it was a box of *clocks*, intended as gifts for the delegates.

Someone thought that was a good plan, too, apparently.

Oh wow. That is so spectacularly moronic I almost can't believe it! Again: wow!

OMG. That was a promotion for a cartoon?

... Speechless.

Aqua teen hunger force? I would prefer to strap a bomb to my chest and wade through a bunch of toddlers than watch anything that shitty! Srsly! What a bunch of fuck-tards to even think that was a good idea!

Well, they certainly got a LOT of attention. If there's really no such thing as bad publicity, the marketing guy who came up with this bright idea probably just got a huge bonus. Unless he gets sued or tossed in jail or in a home for the criminally stupid. Argh.

AND they were there for TWO WEEKS BEFORE NOTICED.

Go homeland security?

Sigh. Why do things like this go along, but then rational things like bringing chapstick on a plane cause insanity.

I did like the fact that it took so long for them to be noticed. That's learning from mistakes for you.

However that in no way detracts from the fact that that is possibly the most moronic idea of anyone ever. Fine, all publicity is good publicity but terrorism is not publicity. Gah.

I think there is something a bit ironic about the fact that Boston was the only city to notice all the little fake-bomb-thingies. The rest of the cities where they put them apparently didn't notice. But what a mixed blessing!

Ridiculous. That's what it is. Ridiculous.

Sweet Lord. That wasn't a very clever thing to do, but as the people above said; bad publicity is publicity too. Oh Dear.
