Some fic recs
Feb. 23rd, 2007 09:44 amFirst off, a completed story by
klynie1--just in case you haven't seen this already. It's called A Devil Haunts Thee, and it's an NC-17 slash fic featuring Remus/Severus, Remus/Harry, Harry/Severus, and finally, Remus/Severus/Harry. It's quite long--she posted it in six parts--but it's completed.
Yes, there are a lot of juicily described, graphic sex scenes in this one, which is fun. I wasn't actually in the mood for that last night when I read it, though, so I couldn't really evaluate them beyond a "that was well done." What captivated me about this story were the mood and the pacing. It was like reading a thriller with slash elements. The climactic scene really got me--I knew everything was going to turn out well, really I did, but if I had been watching this as a movie, I would have been up pacing up and down in suspense anyway. I also grooved on the characterization. All the lovely tension of the animosity between Snape and Harry was there--Snape was still the morally dubious, grumpy guy we know from canon.
I am happy to see that there are new installments on two WIPs on my flist today, which I haven't yet had time to read. One is The Politician's Wife by
pir8fancier, a story that I thought had so much going for it. I'm really happy there's going to be more. (I mean, there is more, I just haven't read it.) Also, and I'm sure you all know that I think this is like the most wonderful Snupin ever, there is a new intallment of
innerslytherin's Redemption fic. I read the first paragraph (!) over breakfast this morning, and then had to run out of the house! So more fic goodness later in the day, once I've printed and photocopied and done all that kinda intellectual stuff at work...
