[livejournal.com profile] melusinahp wrote a disturbing but canon-compliant Harry/Bellatrix story. It's very well done, her writing style is fluent and graceful, and she knows the trio very well. Her Hermione and Ron are similar to the canon characters, but I felt even more affection for them in her story. Her Harry has the same impulsivity, anger and passion that I like in him in canon. I also got into her ideas about how to use the magic from HBP.

Anyway, check it out. I should warn you that the story does have explicit descriptions of sexual activity between Bellatrix and Harry, who is seventeen in the story, and he is not fully consenting. (Amortencia as a date-rape drug has been done in other fics, but not as well as it is here!)

This is a story that doesn't need a sequel; it's very complete as it is. Nevertheless I think I would like to read a sequel! There are a lot of hints of goodies to come.

OMG, my first rec! Thank you so much! Really, I'm amazingly flattered.

And I love the way you describe my story. I feel happy that you really got it.

I am working on part two, "Veritaserum", now. It will have Draco (obviously), Snape and Tonks in it. But not necessarily Draco/Snape/Tonks, although that's given me an idea for another story, now...

Great! I'm glad I understood the story. I am glad that you worked out that whole Amortencia issue the way you did. Maybe someone will see the rec and put you on one of the newsletters or something.

I think you might want to post a link to your story at [livejournal.com profile] hprarepairs.

Huh. I emailed Hogwarts_Today and sent them a link to your rec, but no dice, I didn't make the cut. I'm kind of bummed. I'm not sure what one needs to do to get listed, if one needs to be well known, or whatever. Or maybe they just didn't like the story.

It's so weird to work so hard on something, and put so much of yourself into it, and then just turn it out to the world and wait for feedback. It's hard not to become emotionally involved in the process.

So, again, thanks so much for this lovely rec. It made me feel very happy.
