I was rewarded for being inappropriately passive-aggressive about only having two sets of questions to answer for the Five Fannish Things meme, and got more questions from [personal profile] etrangere, [personal profile] magnetic_pole and [personal profile] busaikko. Thank you! I apologize I also got to find out which Tove Jannson characters my friends identify with.

Some non-fannish ones:

top five favorite foods
This one was too hard, so I got a little random with it.

1. sushi
2. buttered noodles (margarine OK!)
3. gazpacho
4. veggie dumplings from the Chinese restaurant in my neighborhood
5. Toasted bialy with margarine or cream cheese

top five current articles of clothing/shoes

Good question! Don't you want to know this about everyone on your flist?

1. black v-neck cotton t-shirt
2. black v-neck awesome jersey sleeveless dress
3. elastic waist swingy knee-length coral print cotton jersey skirt
4. red mary janes that [personal profile] timetiger picked out for me (though I've worn them so often they get smelly!)
5. my bathing suit. No, it's not the best one I've ever owned but...swimming! Yay!

top five holidays
1. Yom Kippur (I really like it. I know, I'm a weirdo. You don't have to cook for it, the liturgy rocks, I like being absolved of my sins...Fine, I can't explain.)
2. Passover
3. Thanksgiving
4. "Talk Like a Pirate Day's Brother," which was yesterday, according to my son. Ahoy the boat!
5. Purim

top five characters who are/would be good parents
Argh! No one in Harry Potter, right? Well, maybe Harry himself might be a good dad. And maybe Luna--but they're both orphans, and there's always the issue of childhood trauma and how a person chooses to react to it.

1. Moominmama (I'm into her right now.)
2. Lillian Moller Gilbreth
3. Mrs. Dashwood
4. Kanga
5. Cordelia Naismith Vorkosigan

top five Britishisms
1. big girl's blouse
2. load of bollocks
3. "not very nice" (said about food, which we don't say in the States)
4. all mouth and no trousers
5. jolly good

top five Snapish moments, canon, movie, or fannish
1. Canon: (When Dumbledore tells Snape he should kill him:) "Would you like me to do it now, or would you like a few moments to compose an epitaph?"
2. Canon: "… And Crabbe, loosen your hold a little. If Longbottom suffocates it will mean a lot of tedious paperwork…"
3. Canon: "Then you will find yourself easy prey for the Dark Lord!" said Snape savagely. "Fools who wear their hearts proudly on their sleeves, who cannot control their emotions, who wallow in sad memories and allow themselves to be provoked this easily -- weak people, in other words -- they stand no chance against his powers! He will penetrate your mind with absurd ease, Potter!"
4. Canon: "We have kept him alive so that he can die at the right moment?"
"Don't be shocked, Severus. How many men and women have you watched die?
"Lately only those who I could not save," said Snape. He stood up. "You have used me."
5. Fanon: (this is one of mine, is that bad?):
"Severus, you don't even like to go to Tesco's."
"But I do go. I can do what's required. I always have."
"This is going to be a fun date," Harry muttered. "Accio tie."

Top Five Ways to Break My Heart in a Fan Fic

1. Write something good but don't finish. I will try to put a brave face on it, hope you are writing original fic, but....
2. characters with hidden sorrows in conflict with each other
3. In HP fandom: Snape dies. OK, that's also canon, but I don't care. In fan fic, he ought to live.
4. In HP fandom: Harry's dead parents watching him from heaven
5. In HP fandom: dead characters reconciling in the afterlife (but it has to be done well.)
