I wanted to convey the idea that Lord Dono was a trans man who preferred his new male body, so I put in the line, "t's difficult to feel charitable toward anyone who loved me in a woman's body, even Ivan, who was perfectly nice about it." I wanted hints of previous gender dysphoria.
2. I like the banter between Dono and By, even though I'm not 100% sure it's in character for Dono. Since I was filling in a gap in the original story, I felt OK making him like a teenage boy in private.
3. Even though By is seducing Ivan, I'm glad I found a way to show that Ivan is a good kisser.
