Today was my first day at my new 75% time job. It was nice. My coworkers put up signs in the entryway that said "Welcome Schemingreader!" (Only, with my real name instead of my nom-de-blog.)

The big challenge of this new job is that they have been relatively disorganized about the grant proposals. They have no unified deadline list for the grant proposals they write every year. This is a bit scary. Luckily I am a naturally disorganized person who has always had to hypercorrect. So I'm doing a lot of filing.

It's a very worthy organization and the people seem really nice and warm.

I didn't check in 45 times on my flist today. I am going to try to focus on work at work and on fun at home. Nevertheless, I did make some progress on my infamous, year old WIP. I decided that I was going to be like [livejournal.com profile] busaikko and write during my commute. I wrote a whole relatively long and somewhat histrionic scene in a teensy little notebook. It was fun.

I think I'm going to try to take down the drabble challenges and do drabbles on the commute, too.

Thats a fantastic idea - especially since fun writing for you = hot reading for us :)

That sounds so nice. I'm glad your new workplace is so welcoming.

Good idea to do drabbles on the commute. I don't know how you write fanfic on the go - I have to really clear my head to write even a sentence.

Glad to hear that your first day went well!

I learned a new word today - didn't know "commute" before and had to look it up. And I think it's an excellent idea to use the time on the train or bus for writing.

Sounds like a winner! Good idea using the commute to write - I assume you're not driving. ;) I use the hours spent on my lawnmower to do mental writing. Then all I have to do is find the time to get it down.

Good luck with both your work and your writing.
