My child went to bed at his normal time, around 8:30. At 1:30, he woke up. I think because that was when his father went to bed. He whined and cried until 2:30, pulling my hair every time I fell back to sleep. Finally he told me to go sleep somewhere else! So I slept on the bed in the guestroom. I don't think co-sleeping is supposed to go this way. He kicked me out of my bed! It's true that I snore, but I felt really bad anyway and it was difficult to fall back to sleep. I was happy not to have anyone pulling my hair, though.

Then my body woke me up at 5AM. I am a bit wound up about my new job. My husband's work situation is stressful, too. Also I think we both were worried about the election.

All right! Here are three drabbles I did recently:

Dia de Los Muertos, Cuernavaca, 2005--rated G Snape/Harry drabble.

Babylon--Lupin gen, G-rated. This is related to the second story I ever wrote in fandom, The Werewolf Children. (A story that contains grantwriting, which is perhaps why I don't pimp it around more...)

Dark Dreams--PG-13 Lupin/Snape drabble.

More to come. Also I'm working with [livejournal.com profile] sscrewdriver and [livejournal.com profile] busaikko on a work of serious literature based on some comment porn.

Hey. I just wanted to poke my head around the corner, and say that your drabble entitled "No House Cup for us this year" over at snape100 was brilliant, really. The subtle humor of the piece went well, considering the underlying emotions that are implied. Good stuff.

Anyways, sorry to post over here, but I thought you'd miss the tipping of the hat, if I did it over in the forum, considering it was from awhile back.

That's very kind of you! Thank you!

Actually, I get email notifications of comments, no matter how old they are. Is your email set up to do that? It means you have to have an infinite inbox, like yahoo or gmail, but otherwise it's really helpful.

Riiiiight. *giggles*

You are far more patient than I. No one kicks me out of my own bed. Hope the stress eases up and everybody can get back to normal soon.

I was amazed at myself, both for not losing my temper and for following through about getting out of the bed. But it was a good decision. He wasn't being annoying on purpose; he was all frazzled from waking up. The truth is that he is generally not very whiny or weepy for a kid his age, so I try to cut him slack on the occasions when he is.

We are all under way too much stress, I think.

[livejournal.com profile] busaikko suggested that getting up at the crack of dawn makes one want to write crackfic. So my loss (of sleep) is your gain (if you can call it that!)

I liked The Werewolf Children. Stories where werewolves and other magical beings view the Ministry, the Order and Voldemort as equally bad, and decides to stay neutral for that reason, are always interesting to me. It makes the Magical world less black and white.

Serious literature. Right.

Did you see [livejournal.com profile] busaikko updated?

Last night I felt so inadequate in the wake of your throbbing talent for comment porn. You unmanned me.

*snort* "unmanned!"

I put together all the bits that the three of us have written to date and emailed it to each of you. Now you have to take a look at it and see if you can't make it any sillier. I sent it to your new, funky account with the geological name.

Throbbing talent! I have a throbbing talent.

Yes, your talent throbs so hard that you could use it to generate environmentally friendly wave energy. A dip in the ocean might cool you off too, hot stuff.

I read the attachment, and I cannot possibly make the fic any sillier. I think my mind went *kerpluft* sometime last night and still hasn't recovered, probably one laugh too many. Mr Sscrewdriver complained because he said I woke him up with my loud chortling. [livejournal.com profile] busaikko sort of ended on a climax, didn't she?
