First, the submission period is nearing the halfway point. We're excited to see what you're all working on, so please take a minute to tell us where you are in the submission process. As a reminder, submissions are due July 21st and there is a prize pool of $100,000 up for grabs!

Clarification about open source software
We've made a clarification to the Official Rules to specifically allow the use of third-party software, including open source software. The clarification is below (as well as on the Rules tab). We know that there are lots of great open source resources, including the code samples in Mark Murphy's excellent "Android Development for External Displays – a Busy Coder’s Guide " on the Resources tab.
CLARIFICATION - MAY 11, 2014: While an entrant’s App may incorporate third-party software, including open source software, the App must include material and substantial functionality that adds significant value beyond the third-party software that is the result…

Do you have lots of ideas for great dual screen apps and games, but still have technical questions? If so, make sure you check out the developer guides on the resources tab! Not only do we have an excellent and extensive article by Mark Murphy, one of the contest judges, but we also have links to purchase wireless game controllers, MHL cables, and MHL to HDMI adapters. If you still have questions after checking out those resources, feel free to start a discussion about it.
