The M9 all return to Caduceus's home in the Blooming Grove where their safety is disrupted by Caleb's former unhinged mentor, Trent, and Caleb's former girlfriend and boyfriend. HE HAS ANOTHER FIGHT!!! AAAA, the way he didn't even know about this one. I guess he uses Fatui to beat the shit out of them, too. They have a really cute parting of ways for the time being.
And now Essek is back here again because of course he is, he for some reason has many friends now and also a boyfriend(?)(they didn't legitimately dtr, but I guess it's implied).]

The nice thing about the boss fight that killed you taking place in a liminal space is that you can rock up back from the dead and just tell everyone you were alive the whole time and no one can question you besides, like, two people who are busy doing their own things. The freedom means that he can go back to his job as a Harbinger, back to his family, and also TRAVEL!!! He loves... traveling... and beyond that, he likes Aventurine enough to gladly accept an invite, especially if it means meeting more of Essek's friends. Hilariously I do not think it would occur to him to dtr officially because a part of him truly does still think Essek might start dating Caleb at home unless Essek wants to come stay in Teyvat long-term or something. Wipes tear.
It doesn't bother him, though, because he is a notorious letter-writer and package-sender anyway, so he definitely bothered Essek the whole time they were apart. He is also rich, high-ranking, and doting, so no one is going to tell him he can't take some time off to spend with his boyfriend(?) if he wants, or even be surprised when he says he's going to.
